My husband has been using the same products for shaving for so long. When I got the chance to get some new products for him to try, I jumped on it. HYD For Men is a brand that I hadn’t heard of before but the packaging just screamed manly to me. Simple, strong, and effective.
The name of the brand itself is humorous to me. HYD is so similar to hide. So referring to the product that way also seems very rough, rugged, and manly. Which is also very sexy. So we have humor, sexy, rough, rugged, strong, simple…. I am already in love with the product based off packaging and the name and I haven’t even started talking about performance.
The line is made up of 3 products: Shave Cream, Buffer Stick, and Razor Shield.
“HYD For Men Shave Cream allows your razor to glide effortlessly across your skin, resulting in a comfortable, more precise shave.” – HYD For Men
Men in general do not moisturize their facial skin. They do, however, shave almost daily. If their shave cream moisturizes then that is already doing much more for their skin than shaving alone. HYD For Men Shave Cream‘s hydrating formula reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It smells nice and it really does have a great feel to it – almost like a lotion. It doesn’t leave a goopy feel on the skin and the razor cuts right through it to provide a smooth, clean shave.
“HYD For Men Buffer Stick exfoliates and energizes skin, allowing for deep hydration, while preventing ingrown hairs.” – HYD For Men
Sometimes ingrown hairs result from shaving. HYD For Men Buffer Stick is a microdermabrasion hydration stick. You wet it a bit and buff it onto your face (and other areas if you are shaving elsewhere). Not only are you prepping the skin for shaving but you will get the long-lasting benefits of microdermabrasion. Men already age well, this will make them look young forever! ha
“A proprietary formula that coats and protects razor blades, preventing oxidation and calcification to greatly extend razor blade life.” – HYD For Men
The last (but certainly not the least) product in their line is Razor Shield. It is an innovative product that actually is aimed on prolonging the life of your razor blade. Not only is that good for the planet, it is good on your pocketbook/wallet. According to hydformen.com there are over two billion razors being dumped at landfills every year, resulting in two million pounds of plastic waste. They say that the average man uses one blade a week which is roughly 52 a year. This product is proven to make blades last an entire month which will change that number to 12 blades a year. A huge, huge difference.
I am now contemplating using all of these products myself after talking to my husband about his opinion on the products. I have always enjoyed using men’s shaving products more than female shaving products. I don’t know why men and women shave products aren’t created the same, but they aren’t. I feel like foo-foo female shaving creams are more sticky than they need to be. They generally stop up my razor before I have even gotten done with my shave. I spend more time cleaning my blade than actually getting down to business. HYD For Men is an answer to the question that we didn’t even know to ask. The brand has brought a whole new life to men’s skincare through creating shaving products with a dual purpose. Incorporating skincare into shaving is a way for a man to actually do something great for their skin and not feeling “girly” about it. Bravo, HYD For Men.
