One of the most important things to me is my complexion. All of the products that contribute to putting my best face forward are picked and chosen with care. During the summer months I like a lighter product than I would during the rest of the year; mostly because if I wear too much of anything during that time the Florida sun will melt it right off. I want to talk to you about an innovative product from Laura Mercier; it is her Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact.
“What it is:
Laura Mercier’s latest innovation: her bestselling Tinted Moisturizer formula with SPF 20 protection, now in a convenient compact.
What it does:
This lightweight, SPF-rich formula leaves a dewy, sheer-to-moderate finish for flawless skin—wherever you go. Available in a range of shades for all skin types, this lightweight formula moisturizes and hydrates the complexion, softening fine lines and providing buildable coverage with a hint of color to impart a healthy and natural look. This expert formula applies evenly, does not oxidize, and visibly brightens and evens skintone by diminishing dark spots and imperfections. Broad spectrum SPF 20 provides UVA and UVB protection.
What else you need to know:
This product is non-comedogenic, allergy- and dermatalogically tested and is appropriate for sensitive skin. This non-greasy formula does not contain fragrance or talc. The compact comes with a luxurious, high-grade sponge that was custom-designed with a density and thickness to compliment the formula. The sponge is anti-copper treated to preserve cleanliness and prevent discoloration. Each compact shade matches the original shades of Laura Mercier’s classic Tinted Moisturizer.
Research results:
-This nourishing and moisturizing formula is proven to hydrate skin and visibly soften fine and dry lines.
-Skin is brighter, more even-toned, and skin’s dark spots and imperfections appear visibly diminished.”

A tinted moisturizer in a compact, you say? YES! I am thrilled about this. I am sure 9 out of 10 of the people reading this today have heard of the infamous Tinted Moisturizer by Laura Mercier. This is supposed to be a creme, compact version of the same product. I find that it is a less creamy, more stiff version of the tinted moisturizer in a tube (which is to be expected since it is in a more solid form). I do, however, find that it is a very silky formula. It has a buildable coverage that doesn’t cake up. It smoothes over the skin nicely leaving behind a sheer-to-light coverage and evening out my skin tone perfectly.
It is described as having a dewy finish but I would have to disagree. I think it leaves a satin, almost matte, finish. It does cover all of my redness (and there is a lot), as well as any imperfections like visible pores. It does soften the appearance of the lines around my eyes and mouth. I only applied powder to my t-zone with this product because I always get oily in that area regardless of the foundation I use. I REALLY like the finish this tinted moisturizer leaves behind.
BONUS: SPF 20 is in the tinted moisturizer, so it is nice for all year round but ESPECIALLY for summer when you are spending more time outdoors.
The compact itself has a nice, large mirror and a hidden compartment that houses a sponge: perfect for when you are on the go. I like to use my small stippling brush from Real Techniques with this for when I am applying my face in the morning but I keep it in my purse for touch ups during the day and the sponge is brilliant then. I am not saying that the sponge doesn’t apply it nicely, I just prefer to use the product with a brush.
The color I have is Bisque, which is a light neutral (meaning equal amounts of pink and yellow tones) shade. I am a NC/NW20 in MAC terms just for shade matching purposes. The below swatch is a solid stripe of product on the left with it mostly blended out on the right. My inner arm is lighter than my face.
Final thoughts: I think it is great for normal to oily skin tones and okay for those with dry skin. I want to warn those of you with dry skin that this formula could accentuate dryness, so definitely apply a good moisturizer underneath. I have always been one that preferred light coverage so this is definitely a product that I approve with two thumbs up. The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact retails for $45 at lauramercier.com or anywhere else that sells their products.
I also want to mention that the Friends and Family 20% off sale is going on at the Laura Mercier site until June 28th!
What is your go to complexion perfecter in the summer months?
