I am semi-new to the indie nail polish scene, though I have tried a few other companies. I get excited when I think of indie nail companies and the ladies (or gents) that create them! What amazing, imaginative people they are. I was recently offered a chance to review some polishes from Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish, and after looking over the polishes that Cathryn creates I was overcome with a sense of whimsy that I couldn’t resist. Two of polishes I am showing you are a from the latest Tiki Bar Collection and one from the permanent line.
The three polishes I have are Blueberry Muffins, Pina Colada, and Electric Lemonade.
Before I get started with talking about the polish named Blueberry Muffins I need to say that blueberry muffins are actually my favorite breakfast food. The glitters included in this polish are SOOO perfectly representative of a blueberry muffin.
Description:
Created with a collaboration with a friend, Blueberry Muffins is a white sheer based polish with various sizes of navy, brown, caramel and periwinkle glitter.
It applied so evenly and smooth. I applied two coats and I was very happy with the opacity.
When I got the package in the mail I knew I would love Pina Colada for two reasons: (1) I love Pina Coladas and (2) It perfectly matched the outfit my baby daughter was wearing at the time–good omen, right?
Description:
From the Tiki Bar Collection, PiƱa Colada is a creme/jelly based white polish with two shades of yellow matte glitter in multiple sizes.
I adore the look of this polish. It seemed a teensy bit thick are hard to get an even coat… Maybe the word I am looking for is chunky. I think that this would BEST be applied over a similar colored base. Either way, apply a nice layer of top coat and you will be fine. It was my initial favorite of the ones I was sent and I am planning a pedi with it as I am typing this. :)
And now for Electric Lemonade. Surprisingly, this is the one I was least excited about when I opened up the package, but it turned out to be my favorite one. It is so vibrant and perfect for summer.
Description:
From the Tiki Bar Collection, Electric Lemonade is a clear based glitter polish with various shapes and sizes of bright, matte neon glitters. Colors include: pink, blue, green & yellow.
The combination of the different shapes and sizes of glitter come together over my white base and REALLY give the appearance of one of my favorite childhood treats: a jawbreaker. The polish itself is just great in general. It applied super smooth and the glitter spread easily without any maneuvering of my own. I vote this my favorite polish of the Summer of 2013. :)
Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish is available through etsy, link HERE. I adore all of the polishes I was sent and I have a few more in mind that I want to get my hands on after looking through her polishes. I am a very happy nail polish junkie. Polishes like these are what really has solidified indie nail polishes stake in the retail polish world. The quality and uniqueness is just astounding.
Which of these polishes is your favorite?
