This Taupe-tastic Tuesday is a bit different than usual for me. I typically review a single taupe product that I have had in my collection and previously worn but I was so impressed with a Lancome Gift With Purchase that I recently received I had to show you everything immediately. Of course, towards the end I will get to the taupe swatches because I know that is what you are waiting for! ;)
The GWP (gift with purchase) gave you a mini Hypnose mascara, Bifacil cleanser, your choice of two serums (I chose Absolue Ultimate Night), your choice of two creams (I chose Absolue Premium Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15), and your choice in colors. Whichever eyeshadow palette you chose decided the lipstick you got. I got the lipstick in Camisole because I chose the taupe palette.
One of my favorite pieces from the GWP is the gorgeous makeup bag. I typically don’t care for makeup bags in GWPs because they are usually cheap material, flimsy, weird in size, or just ugly. This one is adorable with the zipper-bow detail. I chose it in the color Pewter because I am a neutral girl and this would fit in seemlessly if I threw it in any color bag. The material feels very luxe and soft as if it were real leather, though I know it isn’t. This is small but fits a great deal of things in it. It is a decent length; I can put makeup brushes in it without the bristles getting bent! Love, love, love…
On to the taupe palette. This is a mini version of Taupe Craze. I am thrilled to get this as a GWP because I have been on the verge of buying this palette for over a year. I don’t know why but something always pulls me back down off of that ledge. Luck was on my side! I love mini palettes because they are sooo easy to travel with and let’s face it!, I will never use up anything so the smaller size doesn’t effect me in the least!
Finger swatches! I had this palette for 2 whole days before the rain let up outside long enough for me to do some pictures in natural lighting. I was dying inside, just waiting to stick my fingers into the pretty eyeshadows! LOL L to R: Pinky has the farthest right eyeshadow on the middle row. Ring finger has the center color in the palette. Middle finger has the far left shade on the middle row. Pointer finger has the top shade in the palette and my thumb has the bottom shade.
L to R on the swatches in the next two pictures:
Top shade, far left shade in middle row, center shade, far right shade in middle row, bottom shade.
I am just loving these eyeshadows. Really nice colors to pair together in one palette. There two GORGEOUS shimmery taupes. The other three shades aren’t shimmery and they are anchor colors that I believe that all palettes should include: cream, medium brown, and dark brown.
If I were travelling and was limited on space I would take this eyeshadow palette and not even worry about what I was leaving behind. I hope you found this review/ramble helpful. I should never had held out on getting the Taupe Craze palette for so long but wow…. I am glad I have it now!
*The products mentioned above were gift with purchases. I purchased the products necessary to get these for free with my own money. All opinions are my own.
