One of my biggest obsessions are highlighters. I own so many, some cream, some liquid, and the majority are powder. If you have been reading my blog for a while you also know that I enjoy products that multi-task as well! Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst satisfies both of these needs.
The disc is made up of 5 different colors (golden tan/soft peach/tan/champagne/bronze shimmer) that can be worn together or individually. I swirl them all together to use it as a highlighter on my cheeks and center of nose, but I sometimes use the individual shades as eyeshadows. This would make for a super travel friendly palette, as it fits in the palm of my hand.
The swatches below were taken in direct sunlight. The first 5 swatches are individual swatches from the disc and the last larger swatch is them blended all together. You can see that the variance in the individual shades aren’t drastic, but it does give you enough of a contrast that you can easily apply a color to the lid, contour the crease of the eye and do an inner corner or brow highlight.
The bottom swatch is taken indoors with a flash. In this picture you can really pick up the peachy tone in the center individual swatch.
Overall I really enjoy the Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights palette/disc in Baked Starburst. It retails for $30 and can be purchased at Smashbox, Nordstrom, Sephora, Beauty.com, and anywhere else Smashbox is sold.
