Anastasia Beverly Hills recently debuted a new palette called She Wears It Well. It was designed with old Hollywood Glamour in mind and has just enough taupe to qualify for my Taupe-tastic Tuesday post! See what I did there? haha
The packaging is simple but cute. There is a pink sleeve that houses the palette and the palette itself has a faux croco finish with simple details here and there. Magnetic closure that is sturdy.
Inside there are 9 pigment-rich eyeshadows (8 are .025 oz, and one is .063). The palette comes with a small dual-ended brush, one side for laying color down and one side for blending. There is also a decent sized mirror to aid in application if you are on-the-go.
The colors themselves are beautiful! There are 3 matte shades in a light, medium and dark color. All of the shimmery shades are mid-tone colors. The palette is also sort of divided, and the organization freak in me likes that a lot. I like that all the matte shades are located together.
The shimmery shades are terrific, they are creamy, blendable, soft, and did I say beautiful once already?
Three of the next finger swatches are mattes (the first 3 left to right) and one is more of a satin-finish. These are silky to the touch and quite nice as well. I had a hard time getting the lightest shade to show up at all but I don’t know if that was due to my skin tone or the eyeshadow itself.
I love the name of this palette because I feel like neutral eyeshadows are something everyone needs in the palette and I think everyone wears them well. I also like that there are cool and warm shades included.
Trophy is a beautiful shimmery taupe.
Glow is a nice shimmery bronze shade.
Latte is a shimmery, pretty, light milky chocolate color.
Foxy is a cocoa brown with copper shimmer.
Sunset is a champagne-ish gold shimmer.
Frosting is a light cupcake pink shimmer.
Onyx is a matte black.
Almond is a matte light skin-toned shade. You can’t even see it against my natural color.
Toffee is a mid-toned matte brown.
This palette retails for $34 and can be found at retailers that sell Anastasia Beverly Hills.
I think this is a great concise palette. It has everything you need for a complete look: dark, light, matte, shimmer. It even includes a brush and a mirror. For the ladies that are looking for a no-fuss travel makeup palette this is definitely a go-to! I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this beauty up! I would dare to say that it rivals is better than Naked 1 and 2.
