An awesome friend (and fellow blogger) sent me the Shu Uemura Nobara Cream Cover Stick Foundation a few months back and I have absolutely used the heck out of it. This is the stick version of the ever-famous, ever-popular Nobara Cream Foundation. It is formulated to give the great coverage of a concealer with the smoothness of a foundation. Let’s see if it does just that…
One thing that is so great about Shu is the simplicity of the packaging. They aren’t wasteful, so there isn’t a ton of extra plastic or lucite to clunk around.
And I have always been a fan on stick foundations. They aren’t messy because they apply directly to the skin. No need to dirty fingers or hands or even an extra palette that you may pour it onto to use with a brush. I literally draw this directly to my face and then blend it out with a brush. Easy Peasy.
The shade that I use is the only neutral one they offer, 564 – medium light sand. For me it is a perfect match. I have struggled over time to get a foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly and I have finally found it.
It has extremely great coverage and once blended in it neutralizes/masks my red blotchy areas. It doesn’t sink into my pores or settle into fine lines. It also appears as actual skin. I have been told once “You look amazing without foundation on as well! Why do you ever use it?” and that was when I was wearing this.
It retails $44 on shuuemura-usa.com and in my humble opinion it is worth every cent. I recommend this foundation for anyone. I have oily skin and it works great for me but I have also used this on a friend of mine with dry skin and it worked well for her as well. If you can go either cool or warm in foundations I DEFINITELY recommend trying the neutral shade.
