Hello gorgeous! I got a little stressed out the other day and the one thing that calms me down and takes my mind off of the rest of the world is pulling out all of my beauty items and reorganizing them. By the time I am done I have forgotten I had a problem at all… well… if you exclude my problem with buying too much makeup! :) Anyway, I was digging through and organizing my nail polishes (grouping them by color) and I thought of doing my Top 10 polishes for Spring.
One that I have been loving since the day I bought it is the Essie A Cut Above. I mostly just use it for an accent nail but it is one that I come back to over and over! It is a mix of small, medium and hexagon pink glitters. I was so excited to find it because I had been wanting it’s twin Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening. I love finding a dupe at a great price!
Another great spring color is Sinful Colors Cinderella. It is a baby blue creme with pink glass flecks. You can hardly see the shimmer in the picture except at the top of the bottle where the polish has formed a bubble. It is semi sheer but it does build up into an opaque finish. You could layer it over a lighter base just to get the pretty iridescent finish. I love the combination of pink and blue. Really does remind me of Cinderella’s dress.
Julep Neicy has quickly become a favorite polish of mine. I am going to be all over this polish this summer. I get weak for a bright pink nail polish on my toes. I adore creme polishes in general and this one is hot pink to boot!
Orly Space Cadet is a color that is seriously hard to describe. And no photo would ever do it justice. It is one that you will most definitely have to see in person. The teal base showcases a chameleon of colors. Depending on how my hand is positioned I can pick up copper, orange, gold, purple, pink, also a green that looks similar to Chanel Peridot at times. It is definitely has the look of a foiled multichrome. LOTS of bank for your buck with this one. I found some at my Ulta the other day so I am sure you can still find this if you look.
This one has been a favorite for YEARS and it is OPI Cajun Shrimp. A co-worker introduced it to me and I have never been without a bottle since. This may be my 2nd or 3rd bottle of it. It is a must have for a spicy pedi! It is a beautiful orange coral in a creme finish. I am originally from Mississippi and there has always been an abundance of shrimp and crawfish in my life… this color was perfectly named.
Essie Topless and Barefoot is a limited edition color. I am sorry for including it but it is seriously the best nude polish that Essie has ever put out. Nude polish (from any brand) tends to be thinner and streaky and this one is so perfectly rich and opaque. I wouldn’t limit this to Spring though–it looks good year round.
Bon Bons is a brand of nail polish that I had never purchased before. I was strolling through Wal-Mart a few days ago and was walking through the beauty aisles and I noticed this and at first glance I instantly figured it would be a good dupe to OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection. It is a decent dupe for the polish that I refer to as “The One That Got Away” but the base is slightly different. If you put 2-3 coats of this on your nails it builds up to be an exact dupe though. It has micro pink and rainbow glitters. And I can’t for the life of me locate the name of these 1/8 of an oz polishes.
OPI Fly from the Nicki Minaj collection. BRIGHT BLUE TEAL! Gorgeous shade. I also very recently found this at Ulta so if you want–go look for it right now. This is one polish color that I don’t think I have ever seen an exact dupe for. Again… I LOVE CREME!
Jesse’s Girl JulieG is a nice coral creme. This polish was created for the YouTube beauty guru JulieG713. She now has an entire collection with the company but this was the first.
Any True Blood fan has to own Zoya Sooki. Obviously this one was inspired from the star of the show, Sookie. It is a beautiful cherry red creme that is bright and in your face. It seems to suit most skin tones as well, whether you are pale or dark, pink or yellow! This is the epitome of red nail polish!
Well then… that is my top 10. Is there a polish that I didn’t include that you LOVE for the warmer months? If so, let me know! I love your recommendations and tend to do lots of purchasing from things that people have mentioned to me. :) Hope you enjoyed this brightly colored post! And don’t forget to enter my giveaway!!!
xoxo,
Laura
