I am a member of BzzAgent.com and I joined the Burt’s Bees campaign. I was in the market for a new moisturizer and cleanser so I was excited to see this campaign pop up being offered to me. I got the box about a week ago and I have been using it everyday since.
I will first start off talking about the Daily Moisturizing Cream. I love it. I love the packaging and the product is fabulous. The pump on this is perfectly done. It dispenses the product but not too fast. You get a lot of control with the pump so it is easy to get exactly the right amount everytime. There is 1.8 oz of moisturizer in the container so its retail price of $14.99 is quite reasonable.
I have oily skin so I am always concerned that a moisturizer is going to be too moisturizing and make me look wet. This one doesn’t. It sinks into the skin right away and leaves my face feeling soft. On the other hand my friend has dry skin and I gave her a sample of the moisturizer and she loves it as well. She gets the same results I do. It seems as though it is self adjusting. The entire line has cotton extract but this product specifically contains rice extract to moisturize as well as aloe to soothe. It is non-comedogenic, which means it wont clog pores. Sounds like a miracle product, doesn’t it?
The cleanser is a cream. It is nice and thick and guess what? It is soap free, which means it wont dry out your skin. It claims that it is clinically proven to moisturize sensitive skin while gently cleansing away dirt, oil and makeup without over drying or causing irritation. It contains quillaja, which is extracted from the bark of the Soapbark tree. It also contains yucca, which is a cleansing agent as well. This retails for $9.99 and you get a whopping 6 oz of product.
The first day I got it I was going to test it out on my hands. I had filmed a tutorial and I patted my gel eyeliner on the back of my hand to take away excess and it had dried up on my hand. I wanted to see how this cleanser acted on budge-proof makeup and I must tell you that it performed beautifully. A fun side note is that my hands felt cold and minty afterwards. I don’t notice this reaction when I cleanse my face with it but I thought it was important to share with you. I do like this cleanser a lot.
Here is a “swatch” of the moisturizer and cleanser. The moisturizer is up top and the cleanser is on the bottom. Isn’t the cleanser so thick and luxurious looking?
Have you ever tried Burt’s Bees before and if so did you like the product(s)? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for your time.
