I thought I would take a minute to let you ladies (and gentlemen) know how much obsessed I am with Taupe and didn’t even realize it. I own a Weimaraner, which is a beautiful dog. He has been in my life around 7 years now and I love him dearly. He is a lot to handle at times, and if you know the Weim breed you know exactly what I am talking about, but it is really worth it.
His name on his AKC paperwork is Augustus Drake, but because I absolutely love the fat rat in Cinderella we call him Gus. He was a tiny rolly polly ball of fur when we first got him and that is the first name that popped into my head. The name Gus also appeals to my husband because we are both very southern and it sounds like the perfect country dog name.
When he was a pup he had the most beautiful blue eyes, but like most Weimaraners their eyes turn a pretty amber color as they age.
You may remember this beautiful picture I took and altered in Instagram from a few months back.
Here is a watercolor we purchased. Looks EXACTLY like Gus.
So, how this all ties into a beauty related post is… I continuously purchase grey taupe eyeshadows because I am always looking for the perfect taupe to match my dog’s fur. His fur is very complex because with different lighting he changes color–just like the most exquisite taupe eyeshadows. I finally made a quad that I think looks like him (which you have all seen before). I showed the quad below to my friend last night and I said, “Which colors do you think look most like Gus?” and she said it was Smut and Smoke and Diamonds. I would have to agree.
I am going to do an EOTD with it very soon, but since the colors are sort of dramatic for me I am waiting until I have an appropriate time to sport the look.
I hope you all enjoyed my pictures of my gorgeous doggy and thanks for looking. Have a great day!
