Some skincare products get taken for granted. The Mint Julep face mask is one of the most taken-for-granted masks on the market for acne prone skin. I think because it is so cheap people don’t take it seriously. I have used this specific mask off and on for 10 years and even I am guilty of falling prey to the idea that more expensive things are better. Every time I have strayed I have been proven wrong.
I love the way this feels when you apply it. It feels cool to the skin and it smells wonderfully minty. I usually keep it on my face for around 20 minutes and remove with warm water and a washcloth.
This mask is intense and has some pretty harsh drying agents, so do not use if you have dry skin. The ingredients are water, Kaolin (clay), Bentonite (clay), glycerine (moisturizer), zinc oxide (used to soothe redness), propylene glycol (natural gas byproduct whose safety has been in question lately), sulfur (sodium sulfacetamide is an antibacterial agent that interferes with the growth of bacteria on the skin; may also cause drying of the skin), chromium oxide greens (synthetic inorganic pigment used for coloring), fragrance (who knows what that contains), phenoxyyethanol, and methylparaben (both preservatives). This is a product that is for people that have a problem with oily and acne prone skin.
In recent months I have been repeatedly complimented on my clear skin. I never know how to take this compliment because I have some of the worst skin ever. It is a constant battle for me to keep my skin clear and this product is one of the best weapons is my arsenal.
