Hello there! I wanted to tell you all about a mascara that I tried for the first time today. I have been wanting this mascara for around a year but I always have so many other mascaras that I never bother ordering it. I broke down over the weekend and searched for it on eBay and found it for around $16. Majolica Majorca is a brand under the Shiseido umbrella and it is not available in the US.
Lash Expander Frame Plus is a fiber mascara and is used to add length to your lashes. Before today I have never tried a fiber mascara and have always been curious. I do have sensitive eyes to certain fabrics and I have been a little worried that the fibers in this mascara may bother my eyes–luckily they didn’t.
Here is what the packaging looks like. Nothing fancy, just a clear plastic box. Unfortunately I can not read the writing on the packaging. Being able to read the packaging could have helped me when I was trying to read the instructions on application. :/ You may be thinking to yourself, “What in the world would she needs instructions for?” Just wait til you see the wand… It is quite odd.
One thing that I was impressed with was how nice the bottle actually is. From the pictures I have seen of the side view of the bottle I was expecting it to look cheap in person. When it is in your hands you can add the little details on the bottle. For instance, the top of the wand has this beautiful metal emblem. Because it is shiny and I was taking these pictures at night the flash kept throwing the image off. My picture below doesn’t show the detail as beautifully as I would like.
So, here is the wand… I want you to notice all the little hairs (fibers) all over the brush. This is the key to making the mascara spectacular. I wish I could put in to words how awesome this mascara is (granted, this was the very first impressions review).
On to the shape of the wand. One side is a comb and the other side is some sort of weird flat comb. I don’t really see the point of the flat side but I used the outer half (the half that is more rounded and comb-like) to actually brush through my lashes. As you come from the base of the lash to the tips you can see the fibers adhering to your lashes. Quite impressive. The only purpose I could make for the flat side of the brush was to get rid of the excess.
Now here are a couple of pictures of my lashes after the first time I applied it. I am very happy with the way it turned out. Don’t let the clean eyes fool you, I definitely had a hard time. I got it smudged all under my eyes at first. I used a little bit of eye makeup remover to clean that up before I snapped these pictures.
My personal thoughts on this mascara is that it does what it claims. It added a lot of length and after I got a hang for the wand it was pretty easy to maneuver the fibers in the mascara. My first impression of this mascara is a great one! 5 stars!!!
