MAC
MAC Brush Cleaner can be bought anywhere MAC is sold and it costs $12. It is a good spot cleaner but I wouldn’t deep clean my brushes with it. When I was using this I was also deep cleaning with baby shampoo once a week.
Dr. Bronner’s
This stuff is a god send. I have washed my brushes with this (around 40 brushes) for a few weeks now and I have barely used any of the product. I bought this at Target for less than $10. It is an amazing deep cleaner. I took brushes that were already spot cleaned with the MAC brush cleaner and it shocked me how much still came out of the brush.
Essence of Beauty
I was walking around my local CVS one day and I noticed that Essense of Beauty had a brush cleaner. It was $6 IIRC and it has a sprayer! This is the one thing that I feel like MAC brush cleaner is missing. So for such an affordable price I thought to myself, “Why don’t I buy this and if I hate it at least I have a handy spray bottle I can put my MAC cleaner in.” I actually love the stuff! It doesn’t have a pleasant smell like MAC or Dr. Bronner’s but it does the trick.
The winner of the Battle of the Brush Cleaners is:
DR. BRONNER’S!
This stuff is amazing! It lasts forever and it also has 101 other uses! Such a great value for the money!
