Stila In The Light Get Ready With Me Tutorial

OK!  I promised you a YouTUBE video a week or so ago and I mean to deliver!  I have been meaning to upload this video all week but I wanted to do the voiceovers because I know how boring it is to watch a completely silent video.  I just don’t like to talk while I am getting ready.  The video always becomes entirely too long and I lose concentration.  I figure that if I just record what I am doing and narrate later it will be much more pleasurable for myself as well as anyone watching!

In this video I used the Stila In The Light palette, which has been a staple for me lately.  I adore the palette and I hope you get a chance to see it for yourself.  If you are a neutral lover you are sure to love it too!

The look is a very wearable, everyday, neutral look.  It took about 10 minutes to create so I feel like that is more than enough time for the average woman, including on-the-go mothers!

The lip shade I used is the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Plum Perfect.  I love it.  It creates a very muted plum toned lip and will pair well with anything!

I hope you enjoyed the video as much as I enjoyed making it!  I think I finally got my lighting right so look for more videos coming from me more frequently!

Follow Me on the Internet

So, I guess you have heard that Google Reader is going away.  I have read opinions on that, whether it is true or not…  In case it is true (which I think it is) you will need a way to follow the bloggers you enjoy reading.  I wanted to show you all of the ways that you can keep up with My Newest Addiction Beauty Blog.
Bloglovin is a LOT like Google Reader.  You can follow multiple people and see their posts in a chronological ordered list.
You can also follow me on Facebook.  All of my blog posts are programmed to automatically update on my Facebook Page.

Twitter also gets updated with all of my blog posts as well as other pictures and thoughts going on in my head.  :P

I occasionally make videos on YouTube.  I don’t always have the time to make videos because I work full time and I am a mother of two (one of them being a newborn) but from time to time I have a quiet half hour so I break out my camera.
Instagram is another way to follow me that doesn’t necessarily include blog posts.  I usually post behind the scenes stuff or just my daily life stuff… You know: food, kids, makeup, nails… the usual Instagram stuff.  Sometimes I even post mini reviews on it.  Just saying quickly, “Hey, I love this thing.”
One of the most important ways of following me is on Google+.  Not because I do so much with my Google+ account but because I switched my comments over to the Google+ comments.  You may have noticed that change happen a week or two ago.  I did it for lots of reasons but know they were important to me.  So now, if you don’t have a Google account you cannot comment on my blog.  I do apologize for any inconvenience that causes.
So, please follow me in any of the ways you find useful.  I hope this was helpful for you!  Thanks for reading!

Get Ready With Me: Playing With New Makeup

It has been quite a long time since I made a video.  I have been wanting to make one since I got my new camera MONTHS ago but there was a pretty huge learning curve.
I haven’t really given my makeup a good play in months and months due to feeling too pregnant and more recently due to having no time.  I used some new and old items of mine to create the look below and I hope you enjoy!
I am honestly hoping to get better at making and editing video, so please be patient with me.  If you like this look, please subscribe!  Thank you!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold and Beautiful Kit

Anastasia Beverly Hills has done it again!  There is a new kit/palette on the market and it is perfect.  It is called Bold and Beautiful Kit and it breaks into two separate palettes.  Volume 1: Bold Brows, Volume 2: Beautiful Eyes.

Because it is based on a storybook theme, the broke it up into two separate palettes (or volumes).  I love that it breaks it into two separate palettes instead of putting it into one because if you are traveling and want to use one of Anastasia’s other palettes, you don’t have to lug around this entire kit and another palette, you can mix and match without the extra room taken up.  If you did want to take this entire kit along (because it does have awesome staple colors in it) then you are in luck because the entire kit fits inside the palm of my hand.

Vol. 1: Bold Brows
I first fell in love with Anastasia products due to the believable color and high quality.  The products being believable is important because using a weird tone can look terrible and mess up an entirely perfect eye look.

This kit includes a colored pomade, a taupe brow color, a pair of tweezers, and a dual-ended brush.  One end of the brush is a spoolie and the other end is angled.
The brow color is a nice neutral taupe shade.  It will be universally flattering for blondes or brunettes.  And quite honestly, the taupe shade is quite beautiful and pretty nice to pop in the crease for any eye look.  The pomade is a lot like a wax and really is able to hold stray hairs in place.  This color is perfect for adding a little more depth to the brow powder, perfect if your hair color is on the darker side.

Vol. 2: Beautiful Eyes
This palette includes 4 eyeshadow colors: a matte cream shade, a peachy pink shimmer, a satin tan, and a deep black/brown with shimmers.
As you can see in the swatches, they are nicely pigmented and perfect for creating most eye looks.
The swatches on my arm are one swipe transfers and as you can see it translates perfectly.  It is absolutely perfect for anyone from beginners to pros.  If you wanted more intense color, FEEL FREE to wear them wet.

I also received a PR booklet that shows some of the makeup looks inspired from some amazing books.
First up is The Great Gatsby:  The look is based on Daisy.  ”A New Money Smokey Eye.”
Another book is The Hunger Games:  District 12 “A Capitol Eye”.

Another gorgeous look is based from Anna Karenina. Anna’s Gaze “A Refined Smokey Eye”.

And the final look in the press kit is from Valley of the Dolls.  It is based on Neely, “A Catty Eye”.

Though these eye looks are gorgeous I wanted to create something similar yet original.  Here is a look I did with the palette and I made it my Valentine’s Day look!  I hope you enjoy the video!

Thanks for taking a minute to read my review and watch my video!  You are greatly appreciated!

Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush

I have had the pleasure of reviewing the Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush for the last couple weeks and I must report that I am very pleased.

“Go from wet to beautifully styled hair faster than ever!  Super absorbent microfiber bristles remove 30% of water as you style*. It’s like a towel and a brush in one.
PRODUCT FEATURES:
• Absorbent microfiber bristles remove 30% of water for faster styling
• Antimicrobial microfiber keeps the brush fresh
• Side Vents for maximum air flow
• Lightweight design to reduce hand fatigue while drying
• Ergonomic handle is textured for extra grip”
The brush claims to reduces water in your hair by 30% so that it can dry faster.  The reason why is because of the wonderful technology.  The brush actually has two types of bristles: plastic and microfiber.  The plastic bristles are the classic paddle brush style bristles and they are to comb through your hair and actually get any tangles out.  The microfiber bristles (the blue ones) are actually to absorb the excess water.  It really is like having a towel inside your brush.  How many of you walk around with a towel on your head to absorb excess water before you get started styling your hair?  Mmm hmm… That is what I thought! ;)
Another snazzy idea that the folks at Goody incorporated into this brush is vents on the side of the paddle brush.  Not only are they helping you reduce drying time, but they are also helping you do it while staying sanitary.  These air vents are to allow a good amount of airflow to get to the microfiber bristles, which helps drying time for your hair and the bristles themselves.  Did I mention that the microfiber bristles are also protected with antimicrobial properties?  PLUS!

InStyle magazine actually voted it “BEST NEW BRUSH” in the Spring of 2012 and I can see why!  If you want to see a short demo of me using the brush, continue to watch my video below.

The Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush retails for $12.99 and you can find it at your local drugstore or big box store.  It is also available at the Goody website.  For additional information and discussion on this brush, feel free to click over to the Influenster Product Page for the brush.  I give this brush 2 thumbs up and you can rest assured knowing that it will be my hair drying brush from now on!

What Is In My Makeup Bag!

Hello my loves!  I recently saw a few “What is in my Makeup Bag” videos and I wanted to get in on the tag! :)  I bit the bullet and did it!  A few of my friends that have also done the tag are MiraSundari, TheBlackPanties, and the beautiful Neicy!  I am sure there are more but those are the only ones I have seen from the people I know and love!  :)  Without further adeui…

Glam Summer Makeup Tutorial

I don’t do tutorials, or videos in general, very often…  I am excited to bring you a look that I enjoy doing randomly.  I woke up this past weekend REALLY late and I had a million things to go and do… so WHAT DO I DO?  Film a tutorial…  I knew what I was going to do for my eyes because it has been a go-to look for me for weeks, but the rest was all a surprise (even to me).

Everything in this post was done with my phone: photographs (which are video stills), video, and even the video editing.

The reason for some of these photos being blurry is because I was in a hurry, I didn’t take the time to photograph myself… *DOH*

I figured video stills would be ok to include in this post… Hope you don’t mind!

Gotta laugh a little at the awkward shots I was able to capture!  haha

Here is the video itself… Hope you enjoy!  If you haven’t subscribed to my channel, please do!  It means so much to me and I am working on some fabulous content to share with you there.  There are so many things that I want to write about but it is easier to show you in motion… and vice versa…  Having a YouTube channel and a blog can really be the best of both worlds.

Let me know in the comments below what you thought of this video, and PLEASE let it be nice things! LOL But I do want your honesty above all else… *braces myself*  Also… I would like to know some ideas that you, my readers/viewers, would like to see me do…  I am all ears!  I can try my best to recreate looks, and you can request specific looks by tagging me on Twitter or Instagram or even sending me an email.  All that information is in the Contact Me tab at the top of the page.

Tutorial: My Go To Summer Look

It has been a long time since I did a video where I show you how I do my makeup.  I decided to go ahead and film while I was getting ready for work the other day.  I also included some still pictures of the look I created.

The top picture is the only one that I took outside in real sunlight.  The rest were taken inside my house.
I really really like the way the LORAC Exposed blush looks on me.  :)  It really finished off this look perfectly.

And here are my lashes!  It is insane how much I love the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill mascara and also the RevitaLash that I have been using.

The lipstick I am using is the Giorgio Armani Beige 102.
And here is the video.  Don’t make fun of me! :P  I am not all that great in front of a camera but I try for those of you that keep asking me for a tutorial and YouTube videos in general.  Thank you for believing in me and making my day asking for these videos!  <3

If you have any questions on anything just ask them in the comments below.  Thank you for reading!
