Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette for Eyes, Cheeks & Lips

I am a big fan of very naturally flattering makeup.  I love shades that are very neutral in shade range and that don’t make you look overly made up when you have it all applied.  I feel like Laura Mercier does a great job time and time again to help every woman achieve that look.  I was once asked to name a brand that represented everything I love about makeup and after careful deliberation I came to the conclusion that it was Laura Mercier.  I want to look naturally pretty sometimes, but I also want the products to be high quality and last.  You can also get a very sexy but not overly done look with the line.  So without me going on and on about a brand that I truly admire, I want to talk to you a minute about the Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette for Eyes, Cheeks & Lips.

Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette

This compact palette features a design that holds the included mini Lip Glacé in limited-edition Rosebud—or any Laura Mercier mini if you choose to swap it out.  The palette also includes luxurious cashmere-infused shadows in a natural matte finish that blurs the line between skin and makeup. A lighter tone for under the brow, plus three darker shades allow for a complete day-to-night look and are flattering on all skintones. The dual blush colors make for truly customizable cheeks and the entire palette is enclosed in a compact case with a large mirror and a cheetah-print motif in keeping with Laura Mercier’s wild holiday theme.

It is really beautiful.  The entire set up.  It includes: 3 x 0.02 oz Eye Colours in Vanilla Nuts, Baroque, Cedar; 0.03 oz Tightline Cake eyeliner in Ground Espresso; 2 x 0.15 oz Second Skin Cheek Colours in Lush Nectarine, Barely Pink; 0.1 oz Lip Glacé in Rosebud!Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette

The swatches are really amazing.  Know that the dark shade is actually a cake liner/tightliner…  I find that it can also be used as a 4th eyeshadow in the palette.  The blushes are AMAZING.  I love that this palette offers two shades.

You can see that all of the shades work really well together.  I love that these shades look so flattering and natural.  They look a tad bit on the warm side, but I am fairly certain that they are neutral enough that some cool toned gals may like it too.

This is me wearing the Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette.  You can see how natural it is.  My cheeks aren’t really showing up like they do in real life.  I think the natural light is washing them out a little bit.

I love this set on my eyes though.  You can see that I managed to get a very pretty wing with the cake liner.  In case you aren’t familiar on how to use it, just take an damp angled brush and go into the product.

I hope that you are as big a fan of Laura Mercier Portable Colour Palette as I am.  Definitely check it out for yourself.  You can find it at LauraMercier.com, Sephora, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.  Tell me in the comments below:  What is your go-to look?

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

I recently got the chance to try out the Mirabella Faerie Collection.  The moment I got these things in my hands I knew that it was destiny.  The color collection has one eye color, a blush and two glosses.  The eye color is one that I will wear time and time again and I AM A SUCKER for a gorgeous highlight.  There is also a really gorgeous set of brushes that have a silver to gold ombre look.  The collection is wonderfully ethereal.

Mirabella Cosmetics | Faerie Collection

I think my favorite item from the entire collection is the MYTH VISIONARY LONG WEAR EYESHADOW.  It has a long-lasting, creamy texture that transforms into a powder finish and will not crease. Moisturizing and oil absorbing color perfection that lasts all day.  My eyelids are so oily and this held up all day!

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

The highlighter is called SWIRLING PEARL BRILLIANT!  ANd it is just that.  There are some champagne parts, white gold parts, and a gorgeous pinky flash that runs throughout it.  It is hard to capture the gorgeousness on camera, but TRUST!  It is amazing.  Also, it is really subtle… surprisingly so.

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

There are two glosses, GOSSAMER COLOUR LUXE LIP GLOSS and LUMINOSITY COLOUR LUXE LIP GLOSS.  They both are luxurious lip gloss and they create maximum Shimmer and Shine. Vitamin-enriched, long-lasting formula moisturized, provides antioxidant protection and antiaging properties.  Gossamer is a gorgeous pink cream with some shimmer and Luminosity is a sheer golden/champagne shimmer shade.

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

The FAERIE TRAVEL BRUSH COLLECTION brushes are gorgeous.  I can’t get over the way they look.  And the are of the highest quality.  I totally didn’t expect them to be as high quality as they are.  They feature luxurious custom gold to silver ombre aluminum handles. Includes: Face Blender, Blush Contour, Eye Blender, Flat Eyeshadow, Brow Brushes with a travel pouch.

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

Just look at those shades.  I think that these shades would look good on anyone honestly.  There is enough pink and yellow in just about every piece that I think it would be flattering on any skin tone.

Mirabella | Faerie Collection

I created a very straightforward look with these items.  I am wearing the eye color, the highlighter and the Luminosity gloss in this collection.

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks | The Perfect Holiday Shades

I am completely in love with Laura Mercier Cosmetics, as many of you know.  If I had to choose one particular product from their entire collection, it would probably be their Caviar Sticks.  I have put together three must-have shades for creating beautiful holiday makeup looks.  Coppers and golds are great all year round, but for some reason I gravitate towards them during the holidays.  I love to do a big glamorous eye during the holidays, so that is probably why.  And the greens only ever come out for me around the holidays.  I think I am inspired by wreathes and Christmas trees.  Whatever the case, I crave that shade.

So first of all: you may be wondering, “What are Caviar Sticks?”  They are multi-purpose eye colour sticks.  You can smudge them along the lashes for eyeliner, use them on their own as an eye color or even sheer them out and use them as a color base.  They are long-wearing, crease-resistant, and for me they don’t transfer at all.  They have won a ton of awards and I for one am in love with them.  I am thinking of making a swatch video for you very soon covering all the shades I own.Laura Mercier Cavaiar Sticks | These three shades are the perfect colors for creating holiday makeup looks!

The three shades I am sharing with you are Copper, Gilded Gold, and Peacock.

Copper is a gorgeous warm golden bronze.  Imagine that brand new shiny penny.  That is what this is.  This is the one that I tend to rock year round.  I actually wore it as a base a few days ago under a Laura Mercier set that had entirely different colors, but I love the way those shades looked layered over it.  They took on a deeper, satiny look.

Gilded Gold is just that an antiqued gold.  The PERFECT gold shade in my opinion.  It is pretty and deep and perfect for a holiday look.  It reminds me of that gold bell that I hang on my Christmas tree.  I can see it being a beautiful lid shade and blending outward with a deeper chocolate brown.

Peacock is a beautiful turquoise green that has just a pinch of jungle green in it.  It is so beautiful when used under ANY green shade as a base or all on it’s own.  I used it last week as liner.  I took a thin angled brush and slid it across the tip to transfer the product to the brush and it worked out beautifully.

Like I mentioned before, these shades are gorgeous and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fun shimmery look this holiday season.  You can find these on the Laura Mercier site, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and anywhere else that carries the brand.  Cult favorite for sure.

Holiday Romance | Mary Kay

The Holiday season is my favorite.  There is a feeling of love that lingers in the air and there is a sense of being home.  I haven’t lived in my hometown for over 10 years now, but during the Holidays I have much more communication with my family and friends and it does my heart good.

What I also love about the holidays are the trends for makeup! Berry lips and a touch of glam really add to my sense of merriment.  Today I am going to show you a look called Holiday Romance using some Mary Kay® products.

Holiday Romance Mary Kay

Funny story…  One Christmas during my earlier years experimenting with makeup, my sister bought me some Mary Kay® skincare for one of my presents.  She was (and still is) a very devout Mary Kay user.  I can probably thank her for my affinity for skincare!

Holiday Romance Mary Kay

I will say that my love for actual makeup runs a little deeper though.  There is something magical about a new mascara, luscious lips, and brightening blushes that makes me drool.  Can I also say that I have an addiction to brushes?  Brushes may have an intended use, but I pride myself in using my brushes in unintended ways, and coming up with some fabulous results.  Makeup is the same for me.  I love using a pretty champagne eyeshadow as my highlight.  Knowing some simple swaps like that will also save you room in your travel bags, which we will all be doing this Holiday season, I am sure.

Holiday Romance Mary Kay

This little compact from Mary Kay is also very handy for Holiday travel.  It has a magnetic backing that allows you to just pop the shades you are using in and out.  So it could be a palette of 6 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, or just like what I have set up here.  Pretty genius.

So now for a little break down on the products I used…

Holiday Romance Mary Kay

Swatches left to right: Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Lavender Fog, Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Driftwood, Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Spun Silk, Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush, Mary Kay® Cream Blush in Sheer Bliss, Mary Kay® Lip Liner in Neutral, Mary Kay® Eyeliner in Deep Brown, Mary Kay® True Dimensions Lipstick in Rosette.

Holiday Romance Mary Kay

For the eyeshadow I did a light dusting of Lavander Fog in the crease.  I really blended it and blew it out.  I then applied Driftwood to the outer v and also concentrated into the center of the crease.  I then highlighted my eyes with Spun Silk by applying it onto the lid, inner corner, and brow bone. I smudged the eyeliner on the upper lash line and then applied two coats of the mascara.  I used the cream blush all over my cheek and highlighted with the mineral blush, but only a little.  I lined my lips and then filled in with the lipstick.  I think the lipstick is my favorite thing about this whole look.  Berry lips are gorgeous and so on trend.
