Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipstick Review and Swatches

Bite Beauty has become a brand that is my favorite for all things lips.  I raved about the Agave Lip Butter in my 5 Product Makeup Look post and the Matte Creme Lip Crayons, so it is no surprise really that I find these equally amazing.  Here is my full review and swatches!

Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipstick

The idea behind Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipsticks is to have a full like of creamy universal nude and neutral shades.  To achieve the creamiest lipstick, BITE developed a technique to hand cut each bullet, removing the outer waxy layer to expose each lipstick’s impossibly creamy core. Infused with five nourishing, aromatic butters, including lavender, shea, almond, pomegranate, and chamomile, this hand-cut and flat tipped bullet delivers portable, easy application in a range of universal, wearable nudes and neutrals that leave a silky finish.   These lipsticks are so pigmented while simultaneously being extremely moisturizing. It feels GREAT on and lasts for so long.

Can we talk about the packaging for a minute?  I love the weight of the actual tube and the caps are magnetic so they stay safely in place when you have them in your handbag.  Have you ever had a lipstick cap come off in your handbag?  It isn’t pretty.

The two shades that I am deeply in love with are Caramel and Moka!

Caramel is described as a fleshy nude.  To me it is a nude that doesn’t wash me out because there is a touch of pink and a little warmth.

Moka is described as as a warm dark brown, but I think it has the perfect amount of red to make it an modern take on the 90’s lip trend.

Overall, I think that anyone will be able to find a shade they love the most in the Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipstick line.  I now want to try a few more.  Look for these in my upcoming videos on my YouTube channel.  For now, check these out for yourself at your local Sephora stores!

Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette Review and Swatches

You all know that I am a HUGE fan of Tarte Cosmetics and I called the Tarte Tartelette palette the IT palette of the year.  Well…  I may have gotten that wrong because I am SERIOUSLY impressed with the Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette.  It is neutral, it includes a blush and the packaging is to die for.

The palette is broken up into two looks (sort of) but you can most definitely use whatever combination of shades you want.  The left side of the palette offers a little bit of a more classic shade range with a light, midi, and dark arrangement as to where the right side of the palette played on blush tones that are more muted, but still pack a punch.  The blush shade is a perfect shade to go with any look!

Tarte Cosmetics Poppy Picnic Palette

The left side of the Tarte Poppy Picnic palette is made up of Summer Breeze, Sweet Tea and Ice Cream Cone.  Summer Breeze is a light cream, Sweet Tea is a nice midtone brown.  Ice Cream Cone is a rich, dark chocolate shade.

The right side of the Tarte Poppy Picnic palette is made up of Barefoot In The Grass, Peach Poppy, and Picnic Basket.  Barefoot In The Grass is a tad bit dirty of the cream family, hence the name suggests.  Peach Poppy is just that, a perfect peach.  Picnic Basket is a deep wood shade, and really does remind me of a picnic basket.

The blush is none other than the super popular shade, Glisten.  I think I own 4 of these now! haha

Tarte Cosmetics Poppy Picnic Palette

When swatched out beside each other it just makes my heart melt.  It is a nice warm/neutral palette that has a nice range of shades that will take you all the way through the spring, summer and honestly are very suitable for fall and winter as well.  I love that there are anchor shades like the super light cream shade to the very dark brown.

Inside the box you get an insert that walks you through how to create two very distinct looks.  One being super light and friendly for daytime and one being a deep and sexy smoky eye.

If you haven’t gotten your hands on the Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette yet then you MUST try it.  I THINK the Sephora sale may still be going on, so try there first!

I am obsessed with the Tarte Poppy Picnic palette and will likely be creating a tutorial using it very soon.  Tell me in the comments below: Should I recreate one of the looks from the insert or create something completely new?

NARS Christopher Kane Neoneutral

Something about NARS just gets me going.  I don’t know if it is the high quality beauty products, the uber-chic packaging or a mixture of both.  Let’s talk about packaging for a minute.  NARS packaging is so classic and unmistakeable, so when a limited edition collection comes out and the packaging is altered a little bit, it is that much more exciting.  The NARS Christopher Kane Neoneutral Collection packaging has a gorgeous reflective pink lettering.  The collection just released online last week and will be hitting all the stores very soon and I wanted to give you a peek at what you can expect.

Since 2012, NARS and Christopher Kane have been collaborating on the Christopher Kane runway shows at London Fashion Week. This collection is the evolution of the creative relationship over the past six seasons and reflects three signature Christopher Kane color themes; bold neon, classic neutral and futuristic iridescence which are based on artifacts from Christopher Kane’s past collections.

As NARS first fashion collaboration to feature a full color collection with products for the eyes, lip and cheeks, this gorgeous limited edition collection combines NARS’ iconic and bold beauty philosophy with Christopher Kane’s signature color palette and design aesthetic. The 10 item collection also includes a new blush formula and illuminating multiple formula from ChristopherKane’s SS15 runway show (Violet Atom).

NARS Parallel Universe Duo Eyeshadow is gorgeous.  The shades are a iridescent pink lilac and a soft iridescent violet.  This is my kind of color!  It has all the elements of something bold and colorful but done in a way that even a neutral lover like me can get into it.  And let’s talk a minute about the shimmer.  So beautiful.  No one does shimmer like NARS.

NARS Christopher Kane Parallel Universe

NARS Silent Nude Blush is gorgeous soft beige shade and I think it will be perfect for summer.  It is a shade that is only slightly darker than my skin but will really make my cheeks look like I just left a resort.  In case you didn’t know the micronized powders in NARS blushes cause them to be so silky and feel as though they are just part of your skin!

NARS Christopher Kane Silent Nude Blush

NARS Mezmer lip gloss is a sheer neon watermelon shade.  It is one of those shades that screams I AM SO BOLD, but it is sheer so it only leaves behind a hint of brightness.  Again, my kind of bold.

You can see from the swatches that this is exactly the definition of Neoneutrals.  Colorful yet comfortable for everyone.

You can find all of these products right now on narscosmetics.com.  Be on the lookout for them to hit Sephora early May.  Tell me in the comments below:  How do you wear bright colors on a neutral way?

MAC Cosmetics Spring 2015 | Peach and Pink

The weather is changing and for some reason the spring and summer seasons just scream a peachy pink tonal makeup extravaganza.  Peachy Pink is obviously wonderful all year long but specifically during the summer I like to go a little overboard and do peachy pink on every last detail.  Eyes, lips, cheeks, nails… all of it.  MAC Cosmetics Spring 2015 launches have been GREAT.  Today I am sharing with you the MAC Philip Treacy Blush Pink High-Light Powder, MAC Is Beauty Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder, and MAC Is Beauty On The Scene Cremesheen Glass.

So first up is the MAC x Philip Treacy release.  In case you aren’t familiar with Philip Treacy, he is actually a hat designer in London!  Blush Pink High-Light Powder (link) is just beautiful.  I love the detail in the embossment and the silver shimmery details resting in the dips.  Obviously the silver is just an overspray that wont be there throughout the entire powder but it really is like icing on a oh-so-perfect cake.

Moving on to MAC Is Beauty!  This was a huge collection that had a lot of pieces.  I was dying to get my hands on the Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder (link), which is a light pink with silver pearlized pigments.  If you have never had a Beauty Powder, they are a silky-soft “beauty” powder that’s delicately tinted and luxuriously pearl. They go on as an ultra-fine shimmering “veil” to the skin. Can be applied as a highlight, soft blush or overall finish.  Pearl blossom is pigmented enough that it can be worn as a blush but also light enough that darker skin tones could do some highlighting.  Gorgeous.

The MAC Is Beauty collection also produced the On The Scene Cremesheen Glass. (link) I am a HUGE fan of Cremesheen Glass as a whole, I love the look of creamy looking lip gloss because they are so versatile.  This one is no different.  On The Scene is a gorgeous pale peach that will suit just about everyone.

MAC Is Beauty | On The Scene Cremesheen Glass

You can see in the swatches below that Blush Pink is just about the same color as my skin, but still great for highlighting the high points of my face because of the sheen. Pearl Blossom has that gorgeous silver shimmer running through that you can’t help but love.  On The Scene is that perfect peachy pink for nude lip lovers.

Did you pick up anything from MAC x Philip Treacy or MAC Is Beauty?  I want to know what caught your eye!
