Recently I received the December GlossyBox in the mail and I wanted to share what was in it with you!
As usual, the packaging is great and the attention to detail is impeccable.
This box smelled amazing as soon as I opened it. I was very excited to see where the scent was coming from.
When the tissue paper was unfolded I saw a great coupon for NuMe. It was for $100 off your purchase on their website. The stuff on the website is pretty expensive so you would need the gift certificate to be able to afford anything.
Lierac Paris is a brand I have never heard of much less sampled. The product in this box is the Gommage Sensoriel Scrub. It is a gel oil scrub that takes on a milky texture when applied to damp skin. This product is going to be enjoyable.
Another product included in the box is the Skin & Co Truffle Serum. It is a gel formula that tones the face and is to be used as a day serum.
I mentioned the NuMe gift certificate in the package, they also included a deluxe sample of their Arganics Argan Oil. By now everyone is somewhat familiar with Argan Oil; this product is specifically for the hair. It is blended with Vitamin E and is good for reducing drying time while deeply hydrating the hair.
This next product from Perfumies had my entire box smelling like heaven. It is a solid perfume. Looks like a lip balm but when rubbed onto your wrist (or where ever else you would typically place your perfume) it amplifies the scent because of your body heat. Wow! I was completely impressed with this item alone. It sold the whole box to me.
And for the last product in the box, but certainly not the least: Illamasqua Medium Pencil. This pencil is a multi-function product. It is a nice creamy pencil that can be used to create sultry eyes and sensuous lips. It is designed to be long lasting and glide easily over the skin. It is the perfect brow color for me, so that is most likely what it will be used for.
Overall this Glossybox was a success. I am enjoying all of the products in the box and give it an overall 4 out of 5 stars.
What interesting new products have you tried out recently? Let me know in the comments below.

Over the weekend my GlossyBox US arrived on my door-step. I have really become excited to see these boxes arrive, there is always something interesting in them that I have never tried. I say on GlossyBox’s Instagram feed that they were going to be including a special product so it was only a matter of seconds before I was ripping the box open!
As usual, the packaging was gorgeous. :) It always is… so much attention to detail.
This month’s Glossy Mag was very eye-catching with the neon colors… I have thumbed through it already and it shows editorial brights and some individual colors that can translate into the real world.
This box’s theme was all about “Pure Luxury”. Basically, this box is focusing on really indulging your body in lots of technologically-advanced products. Who doesn’t love the idea of that, right?
Right off the rip I see two products I have been dying to try and automatically swoon.
Flipping over the card I see that this box is going to be a great one. There are two full-sized products that are valued at $49. That is more than double the price of the box itself, so that is a major win!
This box includes:
Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment
Full Size $22 for 3.1 oz–The sample received in this box is worth $1.14 (if I did my math right). Not really worth too much but definitely something I am interested in trying. I love Biolage products and I absolutely love leave-in treatments/serums!
Ellis Faas Milky Lips L204
Full Size $35 0.095 oz–This product was full-sized so it’s retail value is fully represented in this box. I received a color that isn’t really for me. It may come in handy for Halloween though because it is a pumpkin orange color. I will say that it’s formula and pigmentation is OUTSTANDING! I wish I would have gotten a color that I actually would wear though. I may try to do a gradient/ombre lip with it soon though. How fun would it be to do a red lip and have the center of your pout be this pretty orange color… MMM… see, getting things you normally wouldn’t purchase on your own can definitely bring out your creativity.
On the left you see a swatch on the back of my hand and on the right you see a poorly lit lip swatch.
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Taint
Full Size $14 for .5 oz–This was also a full-sized product. It is a chocolate brown with a rubbery looking finish. Honestly the name is COMPLETELY awful but the color itself isn’t that bad. I think it reminds me of a Hershey bar which makes my mind reel at possible nail art that could be done with it! It’s finish is semi-matte so that stirs up ideas in my head as well. Never-the-less it is a great dark nail color for the Fall, which is just around the corner!
Ole Henricksen Truth Serum
Full Size is $48 for 1 oz–This is a deluxe sample and it measures at .5 oz so the value represented in this box runs $24. That is a generous sample and one I am glad to get! I have used this before (and I still have the last bit left in my current bottle) and it is lovely. I can vouch for it’s claims. While I have this mixed into my skincare routine I use it morning and evening and I do notice a smoother complexion.
Touch in Sol Feel Like Honey Moon Skin Base
Full Size is $20 for 1.13 oz–This sample measures 1.06 so the value of this sample is $18.76. I think it is funny that it is sooo close to being full-sized. It would have been easier just to throw in the regular bottle. I am not complaining though, you can hardly call that a sample size at all. It is a two-in-one product–moisturizer and facial primer all in one. This is the only product in the box that I have never heard of but it completely intrigues me to see something so innovative. I am looking forward to trying this for sure.
Along with this month’s products you also receive a code for a free deluxe sample of the Truth Serum Advanced Hydration from the Ole Henriksen website.
This month’s GlossyBox was fantastic. I am thrilled with the products that were in it and I encourage all of you to check it out. I am sad that I missed out on the first real box that launched because it included a Burberry lipstick. Don’t miss out on the great products sure to come in the next box. If you sign up to be billed $21 for a Monthly Subscription, 3 month subscription is $60, and the more months you pay for up front the cheaper it is to you. Go to GlossyBox.com and sign up today. :)
Total value of August’s GlossyBox: $92.90

I have never owned a single item from Illamasqua but a sweet friend of mine, LeeLeeBell, from MakeupAlley LOVES their lipstick line. She recently posted the swatches of her favorites so I wanted to share them with you.
Information from the brand:
“Let your lips speak volumes with this color-intense lipstick. Indulge in this highly pigmented formula that’s available in a choice of flawless finishes from matte to glossy. Illamasqua Lipstick glides on smoothly for the perfect pout that stays put all night.”
What LeeLeeBell says:
“They are the smoothest, most long lasting mattes I own; honestly they are the best stains too. They last as long on my lips than most stains. They combine beautifully with Revlon Lip Butters too btw, if you’re into adding some gloss to your mattes without gooping up the texture…
If I had to answer: The ones that are my least favorite of the bunch (because they are not as smooth) are Diablo and Fable. In general, the reds are my favorite. And Atomic :-D”
Illamasqua is genius with their promotion pictures. They always manage to do great makeup and be a little out there as well. They colors they use are brilliant and create a sense of wander. Leaves me wanting more…
Illamasqua just came out with their first scent called Freak. I think it is a great name. Illamasqua isn’t afraid to be different. They don’t follow all the sexual name trends that a lot of other cosmetics companies use, they are blazing their own unique way into the makeup world. (And doing it quite well!)
I love that the bottle is tilted. The snail on the side of the bottle in the promotional picture is genius and thoughtful. (This is a side note, but when I was younger I had 2 pet snails so they have a special place in my heart.) More about the actual fragrance though…
Black Davana, Opium Flower and Belladonna (they bewitch the senses into uncontrollable lust and passion)
Poison Hemlock, Datura and Queen of the Night blossom (they caress and kiss)
Aromas of Frankincense, Oud and Myrrh (they addictively mesmerise and capture the senses)
Here is a beautiful and artistic video promoting the new fragrance. It is sexy and odd all at the same time.
This fragrance isn’t released until October 20th but I think I may just need to try it!
