FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic 16+2 Serum

I am lover of serums, but never have I encountered one quite like the FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic 16+2 Serum.  Typically I like serums because they are lighter than most moisturizers, which is heaven to someone like me who has suffered her whole life with oily-skin problems like acne and scarring.  Moisturizers aren’t necessarily a problem, but when something is a bit thinner it seems to work better for me.

The Vitamin CE Caffeic 16+2 Serum is actually pretty thick and sort of sticky.  I wasn’t in love at first. I was sort of panicked actually.  I don’t typically accept things for review that I don’t think I will love.  So, for testing sake I stuck it out and followed directions.  I used it exactly as it says to.  I applied little to almost none all over my face.  It was pretty sticky but after I applied my moisturizer over it the stickiness would disappear.  My face still felt like it had something on it though and applying actual makeup overtop became useless.  I do need to note that I have a limited time to get ready in the morning.  If I gave the product the time it needs to sink in I would definitely be ok for makeup application.

I kept right on doing the serum and moisturizer thing everyday (morning and night) without applying makeup for daytime.  Luckily my job doesn’t force me to deal directly with the public so I didn’t really mind going to work looking plain. But after about a week of doing this I started to see my skin transforming.  I am a highly freckled person.  Some of it is sun damage because I love the outdoors.  This serum made my freckles lighten and somewhat disappear.  My redness and discoloration had drastically improved.  Even though it is a rare thing that I break out anymore, I do still have an occasional blemish but during the weeks I tested this NOT ONE came about.
That is my story…

… as for all of the product info, here goes.
“This brightening, tightening serum contains an unprecedented 16% vitamin C, 2% vitamin E, and caffeic acid, all suspended in a state-of-the-art silicone base.
Unlike other vitamin C serums on the market, FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic Serum is microencapsulated, meaning that it has sustained release of vitamin C for hours at a time. FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic also leaves the skin smooth, with an exclusive molecular lattice network through which the beneficial ingredients can reach the skin. Together with caffeic acid, which has been shown in independent studies to be more potent of an antioxidant than ferulic acid, the benefits of FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic Serum can be experienced in as little as 8 days. It is truly revolutionary.” – FutureDerm
Ingredients: Cyclomethicone (slip agent), Dimethicone Crosspolymer-3, (slip agent), Ascorbic acid (antioxidant), Dimethicone (slip agent), Bis-vinyl Dimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer (slip agent), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (antioxidant), Tocopherol (antioxidant), Caffeic acid (antioxidant)
So for a demonstration I wanted to show you what it does to my hand INSTANTLY.  On the left you see my hand free of any sort of product or moisturizer.  You can see in the far left and middle picture that my hand is really dry… looking sort of like the cracked surface of a dried up lake or body of water. In the middle picture I placed 3 tiny drops of the serum.  The warmth of my hand thinned the serum out within seconds and it started spreading on its own.  This tiny bit of product actually moisturized the back of my hand and my entire arm up to my elbow.  YES!  That small amount is enough for my ARM.  On the right, you can see that the cracky looking skin is gone.  It is shiny, plump and healthy.  This was all within one minute.  It has now been an hour since I applied he product and the stickiness is completely gone but the youthful shiny plumpness remains.
FutureDerm Vitamin CE Caffeic Serum is really fantastic.  I am in awe.  The science that Nicki Zevola from FutureDerm put into this has proven perfection.  It retails for $89 and the 1.7 fl oz bottle is enough to last you forever.  I have had my bottle for almost a month and I have only used 1/10 of it.  And that was me being pretty careless at first and applying too much.  The results are honestly out of this world.  I have been leaving my house for almost a month now not wearing makeup, yall!  This is serious.  You need to go get you a bottle of perfect skin in a jar!

FutureDerm Time Release Retinol 0.5 Gel

I have less than 6 months until I turn 30 years old.  I am already experiencing fine lines and wrinkles all while still dealing with breakouts (usually due to a monthly visitor) and I have been looking and searching for a way to help deal with that fact.  Recently FutureDerm released their Time Release Retinol 0.5 and it sounded like the answer to my internal questions!

I had never considered a retinol treatment for my issue before but as I was hearing information on this product it set off a light bulb!  Why had I not thought of using a retinol before?  Needless to say, I was nervous.  My skincare previous to trying this consisted of cleansing, toning and moisturizing… and maybe applying a mask or acne treatment once in a while.  This is real “big-girl” skincare and I was curious as well as anxious.
Without any looking back I dove right in the first night it arrived.  I followed the VERY detailed instructions that came with the product and woke up the next morning in shock that my skin hadn’t burned or flaked or anything overnight!  And honestly… my skin was excitingly under control the entire next day (meaning no super-excess-oil production or new break out)!  SUCCESS was mine!
The instructions also mentioned that if you have sensitive skin or if you have never used a retinol before to spread out the usage at first.  A couple days after my initial trial I did it again and still no bad reaction.  I was then ready to move into using the product even other night…

Throughout the first two weeks (maybe a day or so more) I experienced one or two dry patches with a bit of peeling but nothing to write home about… I just cleansed my face and the extra skin came right off and voila! I am so excited that this product was so gentle.  I have heard people share horror stories on their first experiences with retinol and that is probably why I was afraid to use it.  Maybe the people I had heard talking about their bad experiences didn’t follow directions or maybe it was the product they were using.  Either way, with FutureDerm Time Release Retinol 0.5 Gel I experienced nothing but positive results.  Maybe it was Nicki’s personal touch in the application directions!!!

Now that my personal experience with this has been disclosed, let me get to the nitty-gritty.
The ingredients are all listed above so I am not going to repeat all of that in text, but I will mention that there are some key ingredients in this product to help it not shock your skin.  It includes witch hazel, aloe, and the retinol itself is micro-encapsulated so it slowly releases into your skin over the span of a full 8 hours.  Very gentle and mild.  You may experience some redness or irritation but I would guess that it would be minimal.  The only real side effect I had was that my face felt hot (sort of feverish) for the first couple of applications.
This product is a light-weight, opaque gel.  Even though it looks like a cream it isn’t; the gel formula actually allows the product to sink into the skin quickly–like 30 seconds quick!  That is great because as soon as you are done applying the retinol product you can move right into the moisturizer you plan on putting over top this and go right to bed! :)  The picture below actually shows the product itself and then 10 seconds after I rubbed it in.  As you can see, there is no glossy, wet look because the product is completely sunk into the skin and getting to work.

All that being said, I can see results already.  The lines around my mouth have reduced a bit and my forehead wrinkles (which is my biggest aggravation) appear less large.  Because my skin cells are turning over more quickly my breakouts have mostly been kept at bay… The only spots that have popped up at all are completely tiny and are literally gone the next day.
FutureDerm Time Release Retinol 0.5 Gel retails for $54.95 on her Shopify page, but because this just launched she is having a sale and has generously marked it down to $39.95!  If I didn’t answer some of the questions you may have had, feel free to ask me below in the comments or just check out the link I posted above.  She includes a GREAT DEAL of information on the product shop page.  Also check out her Facebook page or Twitter!  I am sure she would be able to address any concerns you might have!
What “big girl” skincare product have you used recently?  If you haven’t used any, what are you most interested in trying?  Let me know in the comments below!
