Dior Addict Lip Polish in 001 Radiance Expert

Nothing says kissable like a nice glossy lip.  I have discovered the amazing Dior Addict Lip Polish and the one I have is in 001 – Radiance Expert.

“What it is:
A moisturizing lip primer and polish in one.

What it does:
To create ultra-smooth, ultra-shiny lips backstage at fashion shows, pro makeup artists roll a cotton swab along models’ lips to gently exfoliate; then they apply petroleum jelly to prime the surface and multiply the shine of the gloss topcoat. Now, inspired by these backstage secrets, Dior introduces new Dior Addict Lip Polish. Enriched with moisturizing hyaluronic microspheres and ultra-reflective mother-of-pearl pigments, the incredibly supple formula instantly recreates the impeccable, glowing look of the runway. The revolutionary and exclusive spin-on applicator, which picks up just the right amount of product and then rolls it uniformly onto the lips, provides a delicate massage that enhances the benefits of the formula.

What else you need to know:
Each gorgeous shade is expertly designed to deliver a different effect.
- Fresh Expert: the pink tone restores lips’ youthfulness and promotes fresh-looking beauty
- Glow Expert: the light coral tone adds sheer, warm color to lips to give luminosity and glow
- Radiance Expert: the beige tone optimally re-balances the natural color of lips and illuminates them with radiance”

I simply adore this gloss.  Of course, I chose the nude colored one.

When I spin it onto my lips I get an amzing effect.  It is like all the fine lines in my lip actually disappear.  My lips look fuller and the glossiness is perfect.  It says it primes and polishes all at once an I really see that!
Dior Addict Lip Polish retails for $31 and you can find it at Dior.com or your local Dior counters or anywhere that sell Dior Cosmetics.  It is absolutely amazing.  I want to own every color that is made now.

REVIEW: Dior 500 Point Perk at Sephora

I mentioned last week that Sephora has a 500 Point Perk available right now from Dior.  I have become a huge fan of the brand over the last year and could not pass this up.  I am excited to give you a look at the goodies.

On the back of the box there is detailed ingredient information on each individual item.

I know I take a lot of pictures that are probably unnecessary but I want you to see how I experienced the unboxing.  I enjoy seeing how things are packaged and the care that went into it.

There are two fragrances, a lipstick and a charm bracelet.  All the beauty goodies are minis.

The charm bracelet is cute, but to be completely honest–I will likely never even use it.  The colors of the ribbons are pretty I just don’t really see it fitting into my regular jewelry collection.  If the same star charm would have been on a silver chain I would totally sport it.

The lipstick is in 578 Diorkiss which is a sheer dark pink.  It looks darker in the tube than it is on the lips.  This size is perfect for slipping in a clutch on a fun night out.

The two fragrances are from the Dior Addict line and they are Eau Fraiche and Eau Sensuelle.
Eau Fraiche is described as:
“Dior Addict Eau Fraîche begins with a sparkling, alluring burst of fresh femininity. Crisp, clean notes of bergamot, grapefruit, and orange mingle with fresh, floral notes and ripe fruits, soothed with warm sandalwood and white musk.

Notes:
Bergamot, Grapefruit, Orange, Freesia, Lily of the Valley, Lotus Flower, Pineapple, Watermelon, Grenadine, Sandalwood, White Musk.
Style:
Flirty. Optimistic. Surprising.”

VERDICT:
It is definitely a more citrus-fruity floral.  I am not a fan of this scent but my husband said he really liked it.  I didn’t identify with it even though I really enjoy sandalwood and white musk which are the base notes.  The combination overall didn’t really impress me.

Eau Sensuelle is described as:
“Confident and sweet, she lives life fully and loves intensely. Addict Eau Sensuelle opens with an addictive bouquet of precious flowers. Sparkling rose, vibrant jasmine, lilac, and white musk evoke a natural, floral freshness that is both delicate and radiant.

Notes:
Jasmine, Lilac, Rose, White Musk.
Style:
Confident. Sweet. Intense.”

VERDICT:
I completely enjoy this scent.  It is a deep floral and the name is PERFECT!  It is the best description that I could give, very sensual.  My husband LOVES this one.  And actually a few different men I work with stopped me to ask me what fragrance I was wearing on Friday.  No doubt, it was this.

I hope you like my summary/review of this 500 Point Perk.  This is the first one I have actually cashed in on. Every other time I am interested they are sold out before I know about them.  I pounced on this one immediately to ensure I would get it.
What is your favorite beauty item by Dior?  Have you cashed in points for a 500 Point Perk?  Let me know in the comments below!

Sephora has a Dior 500 Point Perk

I have an enormous amount of points built up in my beauty vault with Sephora.  I never want any of the point perks and when I do finally want to cash in on one they are out of stock or something similar…
Over the weekend I got this fabulosu email and POUNCED on the opportunity.  I think I bought a $3 sale nail polish and paid small shipping charges and was able to get this as well! :) YAY!  I don’t need or want anything right now but this perk was too good to pass up.  I got a shipping confirmation on it today so I will take pictures to show you all very soon!
I am mostly positive that the beauty items are all minis but I am not concerned.  I rarely use a lipstick up before it turns anyway.  The charm bracelet looks pretty so that will be fun to sport for a while.  Do you save your Sephora points or squander them as soon as you accumulate enough?  Let me know in the comments below!

Review: Dior Rosy Tan 5 Couleurs Palette

I am a sucker for a pretty neutral palette.  I own a few Dior 5 Couleurs palettes (quints) and I recently picked up a new addition to the bunch.  Dior Rosy Tan (754) is a gorgeous grouping of shades.

I really enjoy the way they come packaged.  The outer packaging is meh but I love that the palette has it’s own pouch to protect the compact from scratches or blemishes.  I do want to complain a little about it being a felt/velvety texture though… it attracts lint horribly.
The compact itself is beautiful, deep navy blue with a beautiful logo.  The outlining in silver is also a very nice touch.  One of my older quints doesn’t have this silver outlining, and it makes it look a lot more luxe with the silver.
Now for the pretty!  The colors in this are just gorgeous.  The texture is very nice and smooth and they blend beautifully,  I love the quilting pattern on these.  Looks like a beautiful pillow of fabulosity.
Here are the swatches in direct sunlight.  The one swatched long-ways is the center shade, which is a shimmery white-ish champagne.  From L to R or bottom to top:  A satin baby cool toned pink, a deeper, almost red-toned chocolate brown, a semi-shimmery taupe, and a more matte tan-brown.
The colors, even though they are natural/neutral colors really brighten up my eyes when I wear them.  I had a hard time with this palette at first.  Even though the colors are so wearable and nice, I couldn’t make it look good on my eye for a lonnng time.  Finally I switched around the placement of colors and found a nice look that worked.
I lay the taupe shade on the lid, darken up the outer v with the darker brown, blend my crease with the pink (which is what was really throwing me about the palette–not a color I would typically place in my crease) and highlighted my inner corner with the center shimmery shade.  I like the bottom lash line with the tan-brown shade.  When I started placing the colors down in that format it reallllly came together and I finally “got” the palette.
I love the fact that this palette pushed me into trying something new.  I love palettes that really inspire me.  I was trying to wear the palette, but finally succumbed into letting the palette wear me.
The swatches in the picture below aren’t necessarily the best but I had to show you how pretty my pool and yard look in this picture.  :)  Really happy with how pretty the background is, not so much the swatches.
Do you have any Dior quints?  If so, which one(s)?  Let me know in the comments below.  Do you own Rosy Tan?  How do you wear it?

Sunday Ramble: Let’s Catch Up!

It has been a while since I did a personal-type “What’s going on with me…” post.  I figured I would catch you up on what I did this week.
I did a reviewtorial (oh yeah, just created that word) earlier in the week on the H2Pro Beauty Life Vivace 1″ Flat Iron and after I did the tutorial I snapped a quick picture.  You can really see how long my hair has gotten.  Everytime I see a picture of myself like this I am even a little astonished.  It makes me laugh because 5 years ago or so I had a Victoria Beckham inverted bob and I was so petrified about how I looked with hair that short I haven’t ever given it a real cut or style since.  I have really enjoyed my long hair, and since I have let it get long I have more options with it.  I intensify the natural wavy-ness of my hair quite often recently… Summer no-fuss, no-muss.

Another thing I realized is that my stash is in utter disarray.  I have storage/organization but it isn’t working for me.  I need something more stylish and larger than the current setup I have.  I don’t want a vanity… I wouldn’t use it so it would be a waste of space for me.  I have always stood in my bathroom in front of a sink (because I wash my hands A LOT during my application process) so I want something that is functional and looks okay in a corner of my bathroom… and I am thinking that will be the IKEA Alex drawer set…  I just don’t wanna pay the hefty shipping cost for it and I don’t live close to an IKEA.

Speaking of needing to purchase things… WOAH I went nuts on a spending spree this last week.  I have had a justfab.com membership for a long time now but NEVER purchased anything. Well… the recent candy inspired peep-toed pump that came out really caught my attention.  I logged in to take a peek at it and stumbled into THIS beautiful shoe.  It is the style called “Malaya”.  I really liked the candy shoes but I know DEEEEEP down in my heart that I would absolutely never wear them.  I am in LOVE with these peep-toed mules however and I would get so much use out of them.  And I am currently needing a pair of black shoes. Another thing that I love about these shoes is the versatility.  They would look AMAZING with shorts, maxi dresses, dress pants, jeans… You name it!  I can’t wait til these babies get to my front door!

Further haulage was done…  I have been trying to stop spending so much on beauty products these last few months and I have sort of stocked up on gift cards and I was making a return at my local Sephora the other day and look at all the things that crept into my basket…  *shifty eyes*  OKAY!  I put them there… they didn’t jump in themselves…  Sheesh!
The items I got on my first Sephora trip last week were the Dior Rosy Tan quint (EEEP!), Lancome Miel Glace blush, Too Faced Chocolate Soliel bronzer (this is the item I swapped out, I purchased Milk Chocolate and needed Chocolate), Dior Lip Glow, and Laura Mercier Lush Nectarine.  I have been wanting each and every single product in this picture for over a year I was just resisting temptation.  I am happy with this purchase because I let myself long after these products for so long.  Felt triumphant to make these purchases.

The very next day I went to Sephora again… I guess I was on a high from the first purchase so I went back for more items that I have been wanting for a while.  For starters, I repurchased my favorite deodorant from Lavanila (in a scent that I haven’t tried before).  I also purchased a few other items I have been dying to get which were the NARS Lhasa single, Lorac Exposed blush, Sephora 55 airbrush and the Too Faced Natural Face palette.  I repurchased the Philosophy Falling on Love rollerball… but then I threw in some sporadic other items like the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream eyeshadow in #13 and the Benefit Boo Boo Zap.  I don’t regret the purchases at all but for some reason I didn’t get the same excited triumphant feeling as I did the first day.  Oh well… I love everything (that I have gotten around to trying) so far and I will definitely do reviews on some/all of the items hauled this week at some time or another.

What have you hauled lately?  Big humongous hauls or one or two items?  Let me know in the comments below… spark my interest to go buy more! LOL
