I don’t know what has gotten into me lately, but the change of the weather has me inspired to do some full on glam looks. During the summer I tend to do less makeup because my skin usually looks more clear and slightly tan, so I can get away with mascara and lipgloss. During the Fall and Winter months I find myself dealing with more redness around my face so I tend to apply a full face of makeup. I went into Sally Beauty over the weekend and was browsing through their makeup section and found a ton of great products that were all under $10 in their New Neutral color story so I decided to pick up a few things. I typically go for cooler tones, but decided I would step out of my comfort zone since the price was right and I am so glad I did. I am so impressed with the quality of these goodies that I can see them being my go-to for quite some time. Especially the lippie. First up is the Palladio Silk Eyeshadow Palette in Rendez-Vous. They are such pretty deeper neutrals than what I normally wear and that shade in the bottom right is just amazing. The formula on these eyeshadows are so creamy and perfectly pigmented. I was seriously so impressed because most similarly priced palettes offer nowhere near the same quality. The quality of this palette is equal to those at 5 times the price point. I can’t get over how beautiful these are. They swatch well, they blend beautifully. I can’t say enough good things. The Real Colors Stay Glowing Longwear Highlighter is a really nice highlighter. It is a golden tone that has a slightly metallic finish, but when used lightly it gives off a very realistic glow to the skin. Like the eyeshadow palette I mentioned above, this is a beautiful creamy powder formula that applies onto the skin and blends beautifully. The Palladio Pop Shine Lip Balm in Get Real is a shade that I flock to time and time again. Those “My Lips But Better” shades make my heart sing and this one is perfect. It is highly moisturizing but at the same time it gives the color payoff of a good lipstick. There are no shimmers in it, which is a huge plus because I prefer cream finishes in my lip colors. The swatches from left to right are: The first five shades on the right make up the eyeshadow palette. The last powder swatch on the left is the highlighter, and it looks really intense in this swatch but if applied lightly with a fan brush it isn’t intense at all. The lip balm is swatched in the shape of a heart because it is love. The before and after pictures tell you the full story. This is the difference that 10 minutes made. You can see in the before picture that I have redness I have a great glow to my skin thanks to the Real Colors Stay Glowing Longwear Highlighter. I love the shimmery goodness that the Palladio Silk Eyeshadow Palette in Rendez-vous gave me. The colors are beautiful and I think I am “warming up” to warmer shades now. This lip is life. I love the shade. Perfect all year round. I love the look I was able to create and I think I will be making a trip back to pick up a few more of the Palladio palettes and Pop Shine balms.
