Highlighting and contouring are kind of a big deal. Even though this method has existed for a long time in the pro world, the trend for of highlighting and contouring for the every day face has stayed around a lot longer than others. The trick to a natural (or intense) HAC routine is the right tools. I recently got my hands on the Beauty Junkees Contour Kit and I am pretty much obsessed with it.

So as much as having the right makeup products, the right brushes are also a very important detail. The Beauty Junkees Contour Kit comes complete with a pro Sculptor Brush, pro Duo Fiber Brush, pro Highlighter Brush, pro Detailer Brush, pro Contour Sponge. Not to mention the really nice zippered pouch.
These brushes are of PROFESSIONAL QUALITY! The synthetic bristles are antibacterial and hypoallergenic for even the most sensitive skin. Copper ferrules with dual crimps and lightweight wood handles ensure strength and durability. Makeup Sponge is latex free. Sounds like a winner to me.
I personally love the pro Sculptor and the pro Duo Fiber for getting my contour down. I use the duo fiber brush with creams and the sculptor brush with powders. They blend in the contour beautifully and that is the way I like my contour. I don’t like a super defined contour because I prefer the more natural approach to makeup. That being said, if you wanted to build it up and have a more fierce contour, these would still be great brushes.
Lately I have really been loving the highlight. Since my teen years my face has always been super oily but I am going to chock that up to living in the HOT, HUMID southeast of the US my entire life. Now that I am in the Pacific northwest my skin has been much less oily, which has allowed me to freely play up my highlight. I like to use a tapered brush that is on the larger side and the pro Highlighter brush is PERFECT!
The detail brush in the set is the one I have been reaching for the most when I am carving out my crease. I use a mid-tone to dark eyeshadow shade and just run it into the eye socket to create the appearance of a crease.
And the makeup sponge is really nice actually. It is hard to find a good dupe for the beauty blender but this makeup sponge has been all I have needed to make sure my foundation doesn’t look streaky. You could also use this to apply a cream highlighter or contour shade, but I don’t use a ton of cream products.
Overall I think the set is really nice and it is less than $25 on Amazon! WOOT! Don’t forget to use the code ADDICT25 for an additional 25% off!
