Too Faced has really gotten my attention in the last couple of years. I feel like their products have always been top notch, but they have REALLY stood out lately for me. The latest addition to my Too Faced family is the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette. I am going to give you a full review, swatches and an Everyday Glam Eyeshadow Tutorial!
The Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette has the same setup as the original palette. There are 16 shadows. 2 of the 16 shadows are larger than the rest and that is because they are the lighter shades that you would wear every day. The lighter shades are typically what people run out of in eyeshadow palettes first so they gave you plenty of product in those two shades so the wear on all the shadows stays about even.
These eyeshadows are really soft and smooth and swatch without dragging or skipping. The color is saturated, even for the nude/skin tone shades.
Swatches L to R:
Licorice, Coconut Cream, Nougat, Truffled, Hot Fudge
Cocoa Chili, Pink Sugar, Puddin’, Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter, Frosting
Rum Raisin, Mousse, Caramel, Bon Bon, Butter Pecan
I have put together a look using this palette and I think that everyone can benefit from it. I used specific colors and I will name them through the tutorial, but the same basic fundamentals can be used with many of these shades to create similar, but unique looks.
{one} Lay down a primer like Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
{two} Apply a light shimmery shade all over the lid, I used Butter Pecan.
{three} Make a triangle shape in the outer v section, I used Puddin’.
{four} Take the same shade and go 1/3 of the way into the crease.
{five} Take a clean blending blush and buff out the crease to make a diffused look.
{six} Take a darker shade like Hot Fudge and go back into the outer v to darken up the edges.
{seven} Take Butter Pecan and add it back onto the lid in case you blended away the shimmer.
{eight} Take Pink Sugar and go into the inner corner.
{nine} Using Puddin’, define the lower lash line.
{ten} Using the Too Faced 3 Way liner line the upper lash line. I love making wings, but you can do whatever you like.
{eleven} Apply your favorite mascara, mine happens to be Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara!
And that is it! So easy. It sounds like a lot of steps, but I really over explained the look a little for those that are just starting out and don’t quite have the basics down yet.
So this is the before look. All I have on is face makeup and brows and a touch of gloss.
And this is the after. I love a good, simple, staple eyeshadow look. That is what I tend to wear and I personally love it. I hope you enjoyed learning how to reading this Everyday Glam Eyeshadow Tutorial.
