It has been a good long while since I actually did a makeup post so I wanted to show you an eye look that I have been wearing nonstop lately. It involves two of my favorite things: taupe eyeshadow and smokey eyes. Granted, I waited until the end of the day to actually take these photos and you can see the redness peeking out of all the corners of my eyes so I apologize for that. But you can see just how well the eyeshadow held up and I will credit that to using amazing products. Follow along and will show you how to create this Smoky Taupe eyeshadow look.
The liner on my waterline is going 6-7 hours strong in these shots. I am really impressed with how long it lasted. Even though its fading and wearing off in these pictures, just remember how long it lasted. It held up beautiful when most stuff is gone in minutes.
What I wore:
Mehron Eye Primer
Tarte Tartelette Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Moonlight (metallic champagne beige)
IT Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
MAC Mystery used as brow powder
I first applied a layer of the Mehron Eye Primer. It is silky smooth and allows for anything on top to blend beautifully.
I then took the Tarte Tartelette palette and applied ‘Force of Nature’ as the blending shade in the crease. I further defined the crease by using ‘Dreamer’.
I then took Laura Mercier Moonlight Caviar stick and applied a thin layer onto the lid. I smoothed it out using the warmth of my finger.
I then took the shade ‘Multi-Tasker’ from the Tartelette palette and deepened up the outer-v.
I used MAC Nylon to highlight the inner corner.
I then applied the IT Cosmetics Gel liner onto the waterline and set it with ‘Fashionista’ from the Tartelette palette. I find that if you have problems with keeping liner to stay just set it with a like colored eyeshadow. It may not make it last forever but it will at least double the wear time.
I then defined my brows using MAC Mystery and applied a couple coats of mascara.
This is my Smoky Taupe! So tell me in the comments below: What is your favorite eyeshadow to create a smoky eye with?
