I am completely in love with Laura Mercier Cosmetics, as many of you know. If I had to choose one particular product from their entire collection, it would probably be their Caviar Sticks. I have put together three must-have shades for creating beautiful holiday makeup looks. Coppers and golds are great all year round, but for some reason I gravitate towards them during the holidays. I love to do a big glamorous eye during the holidays, so that is probably why. And the greens only ever come out for me around the holidays. I think I am inspired by wreathes and Christmas trees. Whatever the case, I crave that shade.
So first of all: you may be wondering, “What are Caviar Sticks?” They are multi-purpose eye colour sticks. You can smudge them along the lashes for eyeliner, use them on their own as an eye color or even sheer them out and use them as a color base. They are long-wearing, crease-resistant, and for me they don’t transfer at all. They have won a ton of awards and I for one am in love with them. I am thinking of making a swatch video for you very soon covering all the shades I own.
The three shades I am sharing with you are Copper, Gilded Gold, and Peacock.
Copper is a gorgeous warm golden bronze. Imagine that brand new shiny penny. That is what this is. This is the one that I tend to rock year round. I actually wore it as a base a few days ago under a Laura Mercier set that had entirely different colors, but I love the way those shades looked layered over it. They took on a deeper, satiny look.
Gilded Gold is just that an antiqued gold. The PERFECT gold shade in my opinion. It is pretty and deep and perfect for a holiday look. It reminds me of that gold bell that I hang on my Christmas tree. I can see it being a beautiful lid shade and blending outward with a deeper chocolate brown.
Peacock is a beautiful turquoise green that has just a pinch of jungle green in it. It is so beautiful when used under ANY green shade as a base or all on it’s own. I used it last week as liner. I took a thin angled brush and slid it across the tip to transfer the product to the brush and it worked out beautifully.
Like I mentioned before, these shades are gorgeous and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fun shimmery look this holiday season. You can find these on the Laura Mercier site, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and anywhere else that carries the brand. Cult favorite for sure.
