It is no surprise to people that have been reading my site for the last four years that I am obsessed with everything taupe. I love taupe eyeshadow, taupe nail polish, I have taupe walls, taupe furniture, MY DOG was taupe. A couple years ago I did a YouTube video named OcTAUPEr and I am going to do a post every Friday in the month of October about something taupe. This is going to be the best OcTAUPEr ever!
I have unlimited supply of anything in the taupe range, no matter the category of cosmetic product. You would think it would be difficult for me to pick the shades that I deem the best, right? Nope. It was easy. I just decided to choose the ones that I wear over and over again. I wear taupe on my nails all year round. I go for darker tones in the Fall and Winter and lighter shades in the Spring and Summer. So here they are!
Sephora by OPI is no more, but if you can get your hands on the shade Metro Chic, DO IT! It is my most worn, most favorite.
OPI Berlin There Done That is a gorgeous shades that actually reminds me of my dog that passed about a month ago. It was a Weimeraner and his name was Gus. Funny that they are both German things, right? Berlin and Weims!
Two shades that are oddly similar, et different are Zoya Jules and Butter London All Hail The Queen. Both of these nail polishes are taupe, but Jules is a touch more olive with pretty gold silver and champagne sparkles while All Hail The Queen is a beige taupe with scattered holo. Side by side they look so close, but they are made up completely different. So weird!
All that being said, I think I wear these the most because they all have great color pay off, a smooth formula, and DUH they are gorgeous. Those are the things that all of these polishes have in common.
So, I decided what my favorites were by simply thinking about what I wore the most… How on earth do you choose your favorite polish shades? I would love for you to tell me in the comments below!
