Today I want to give you a peek into my daughter’s nursery. I had my daughter a little over a year ago and decorating it was so fun. Until she came along I was the only girl in the house, so getting to decorate with pinks and whites and all that is frilly was like a breath of fresh air! As we all know babies can be pretty smelly creatures, so I keep that air fresh using the Diaper Genie and keep refills in stock!
So for starters, her bedroom door has the wreath on it that my sister gave me when she was born. It is too pretty not to keep on display!
And once you open the door you are transported into a pink and white paradise. :) When there was no furniture in the room and I painted the walls pink I started fearing that it was TOO pink. I kinda went slightly overboard at first because I had a boy the first go round and everything was blue, sailboats and plaid. I am a girly-girl and I wanted her room to be just that, too!
Her changing table was a hand me down from a friend and I just love it. I love that there are drawers to store changes of clothes and what-nots and then cubby-holes for the important stuff like powder, wipes, lotions and Diaper Genie Refills.
The bedding and accessories I got were a french country-side, shabby-chic feel. I actually had my eye on that bedding set from the start and it was my inspiration for the room. Towards to end of my pregnancy I figured out what my little gift was going to be named and I went to a craft store and bought the letters and ribbon and hung them over her crib.
And if you ever see my million pictures of my kids here on the blog and on my various social media accounts you will know that my daughter ALWAYS has a bow in her super-long hair. If not it would get in her eyes and she would constantly be scratching them to move it out of the way. I have this DIY bow rack to keep them all organized. I also think it is a super pretty decoration piece.
Like I mentioned before, I keep her room smelling as pretty as it looks by making use of the Diaper Genie. I didn’t have one with my first child (who is 8 years old now) and I could kick myself for not having one. It is so much extra work to get the diaper off, seal it up, tie it in a bag and take it outside to let it ferment in the hot garage. This Diaper Genie seals in the stank and is so easy. You just pop it open with your foot and shove that dirty diaper in and BOOM you are done.
I recently went and bought a couple of 2-packs of these genius refills at my local Target. Right now, while supplies last, they are offering a $25 Spa Finder Wellness gift card so it is like getting the diapers for free! You just have to purchase 3 refills, keep your receipt and visit http://www.drvsusa.com/dg/ to get your instructins on how to redeem it. So whether you are purchasing these refills for yourself or for an amazingly thoughtful baby shower gift, you get a great bonus!!!
I hope you enjoyed a peek inside my daughter’s UBER girly pink and white room and learning how I keep it fresh with Diaper Genie and Diaper Genie Refills. Are you going to get these refills for yourself or for a baby shower present? Are you going to give the gift cards to the mom-to-be or keep it as a present for yourself?
