Ok friends… today I am doing something that is a lot out of my norm. I have been playing with Ciate’s Mini Paint Pots Trio called The Blue Edit for a couple weeks now and I have been trying to think up creative nail art and then I remembered that that isn’t my strong point. I can do french tips fairly well so I decided to do a fun Ombre French Tip Mani!
The trio is really quite beautiful. The three shades are named Power Dressing, Ferris Wheel and Pillow Fight. Power Dressing: Rich dark blue. This color is for the strong and powerful woman in high places—let your nails do the talking. Ferris Wheel: A pastel blue so pretty it will send you into a spin. Pair with your favorite party dress for a sweet, stylish look. Adorable! Pillow Fight: Creamy, delicate gray with the smallest hint of lilac—innocent looking with an edge. Get ready to release your playful side.
You don’t have to be precise when trying to create these tips. You just paint it on and then have a brush that you dip into nail polish remover to wipe away/straighten up the edges. I like to make my line curve slightly so I used tiny windshield wiper motions until I got the shape I was happy with.
So 3 of the 5 shades were chosen for me in the trio… I was in charge of creating the other two so I mixed them together. for the ring finger I mixed Pillow Talk and ferris Wheel and for the fore finger I mixed Ferris Wheel with Power Dressing.
Once mixed together I apply it on the nail. I use a cheap bottle of clear polish that I don’t mind ruining because I am dipping that brush into the mixed up shades. I then use the same brush and nail polish remover trick to straighten things up a bit.
So voila! There you have it. Definitely not hard to do. If I can do it I absolutely know you can. I am all thumbs when it comes to doing
intricate hard things on my nails! I hope you enjoyed this “tutorial” of sorts and took a handy trick or two away with you!
