If you have read my blog at all in the last year you KNOW how obsessed I am with complexion products, whether it be skincare, concealer or foundation. I am a life long acne-battler but haven’t had to deal with it as much since I have become dedicated to keeping my skin at it’s best. I am now on the CC Cream bandwagon, whereas last year and most of this year I have been a BB Cream advocate. The most recent (and possibly my HG) CC Cream I am using is the Lumene Time Freeze CC Anti-Age Color Correcting Cream. Let me just ruin the entire review for you now and tell you that I am in LOVE and amazed.
“Representing the latest technology, this unique 6-in-1foundation is light and yet it provides good coverage. It spreads evenly, following all contours of your skin and smoothing out uneven skin color and redness. One product has several features, a handy solution for consumers who like a product that is easy, quick and comfortable to use. The end result is a semi-matte, flawless and even-looking skin. Your skin will feel fresh and light, and you can trust that your makeup will stay on all day. Three shades: Light (for fair skin), Medium (for medium-fair skin) and Deep (for more tanned skin).” – Lumene
First of all, this is a 6-in-1 product and it has wild arctic lingonberry. You can see the 6 different things the box says it does for you, but their website claims slightly different properties. It claims to be (1) foundation -a find but well covering formula, the shades are designed to neutralize the color of red areas; (2) concealer; (3) primer; (4) illuminator; (5) long-lasting; (6) contain SPF 20. I personally agree more with the websites claims. While I do find this a more liquid type of product, I don’t particularly find it more nourishing or hydrating than any other CC Cream or BB Cream.
The packaging is a nice squeeze tube with a small pointy dispenser. I love that the opening on this is at a point and very precise because the control you get with it is amazing. You can squeeze it onto your hand, a brush, your fingers, or even apply it directly to the face in the spots you need the coverage. I feel that this type of dispenser is probably the best for this particular formula too because it is sort of a watery-thin consistency.
About the formula… My very first experience with this had me fascinated. It’s thin consistency and medium coverage that is buildable into a full coverage had me IMMEDIATELY comparing it to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. The texture isn’t exactly the same but there are so many similarities. Once you pat this into the face you get a little time to work the product in and when it sets it is quite dry – comfortable, but dry. Same as the Chanel VA. The coverage starts out a bit sheer at first but once you apply a little more over it it gets to be more opaque. Same as Chanel VA. It has a light, pleasant scent. I find it best to be worked in with my fingers. Same as Chanel VA. I could go on…
The swatch on my hand above is two coats of the CC Cream.
The picture below shows my face in stages. The first picture is me with nothing on except my skincare. If you click on the picture to enlarge it you can see lots of redness, a small breakout here and there, age spots, yellowing… lots of small skin problems. The second picture is after I applied the CC Cream. I used one coat everywhere and added a 2nd coat onto problem areas. You can see as a whole that my face looks all the same color and quite even. I used nothing more than my fingers to apply it. In the third picture I applied concealer, powder to my t-zone, bronzer, blush… the whole face. What a transformation right?
Lumene Time Freeze CC Anti-Age Color Correcting Cream retails at $14.99 for 1.0 fl oz. You can find it at CVS, Walgreens, Drugstore.com, and anywhere else that carries Lumene products. I personally am twitter-pated with this product. It is perfect. It reminds me so much of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and at a fraction of the cost. I think this is of the highest quality and am intrigued to try more things from Lumene.
