NYC Smooch Proof 16 Hour Lip Stain

Lip products are fun, but sometimes they can turn into a chore.  A lip stain is perfect for those that like color on their lips, but don't want to deal with the fuss of reapplying several times throughout the day.  NYC has come out with the Smooch Proof 16 Hour Lip Stain.

I have two colors to share with you today: Never Ending Nude and Unstoppable Red.  

These lip stains claim to last up to 16 hours, not transfer or smear (even while eating and drinking), has a lightweight formula, bare lip feel, matte finish, and allow you to build up color.  I find most of these claims to be true... except the 16 hour wear.  They do last QUITE a long time but 16 hours is pushing it. The bare lip feel is dead on.  It is water-based and enriched with pro vitamin B5 moisturizer; the combination makes it feel like absolutely nothing is on your lips.

The marker-type applicator makes is super easy to get a perfect line and when you turn the applicator on it's side it makes it quick to fill in the entire lip.  Love marker tip applicators!

The two colors are absolutely gorgeous.  Never Ending Nude is exactly as it says: beige-y nude.  Unstoppable Red isn't really red to me... more of a brighter pink.  

The top lip swatch is Never Ending Nude.  It looks like a darker version of my natural lip color really.  And I have nothing else on with it.  

Unstoppable Red does deepen a bit with my natural lip color, but still I don't see red... I find this color to still be a brighter pink.  I absolutely adore this one.  

Make sure that your lips are moisturized and not chapped or irritated.  And also remember that you can apply a balm over top of these lip stains to create a more shiny finish.  The pictures above are with the product only--nothing addition.  That is why it looks like a natural lip look.  

The NYC Smooch Proof 16 Hour Lip Stain retails for $4.99, so definitely very affordable.  You can find them at any drugstore.  I give them 4 out of 5 stars.  Great product, honestly quite better than other drugstore lip stains that cost more than these!  I wouldn't hesitate to pick up one or two of your favorite shades to have in your makeup bag!
