Happy Halloween 2012

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful October... crazy how fast it flew by!  And today is Halloween--which is probably one of the funnest holidays ever.  

Halloween always makes me feel like a kid again, and having my son at the age of 6 going on 7 in a couple months is a really exciting time... Even though he has gone Trick or Treating a couple times before that he remembers, he is at the age where he is really making it his own...  This year he picked out all the different components of his costume.  We purchased each piece separately because he had a specific look in mind.  I must say, it came together well.  

To some it may seem like his costume is a little mature for his age, but this is the kind of stuff that he really likes.  He loves zombies and scary movies... He is a lot like I was at his age.  Fun stuff!  :)  

What are you going to be for Halloween?  I don't think I am dressing up this year...  I am too bloated pregnant to be something with a "sexy" twist and too tired not creative enough to dream up something cute last minute.  Have fun, stay safe!

I have been using BB Creams for over a year now.  In the last year more and more "Western" cosmetics companies have been coming out with their form of BB Creams.  They are leaps and bounds different from the "Eastern" cosmetics companies, but they are still breaking boundaries within the foundation world!  The Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream is the one I am reviewing for you today, so let's get right to it!

It has arrived and it is wild!  :)  The latest (and possible the last) Target Beauty Bag has arrived in my mailbox today and I am excited to show you all!

Manic(ure) Monday: Yummy Mummy, Halloween Edition

I, for one, love the names of the Butter London polishes.  None of them are as Halloween ready as Yummy Mummy. 

I applied Yummy Mummy earlier yesterday morning and was trying to devise a plan on making cute mummy nails all day.... It never came to me so I removed it and applied some other colors.  I then was cruising my Instagram feed and a lady I chat with pretty frequently had done a look very similar to this with her nails so I knew exactly what I wanted to do!  I took off the other colors, then REAPPLIED the Yummy Mummy and smeared white polish to look like gauze/bandages and then took dotting tools with white and black polish for the eyes.  Topped it off with a clear coat and VIOLA! :)

DIY: How To Make a Lightbox

Recently I have been fed up with chasing good light.  It has been really gloomy, rainy, or cloudy during every second of my free/blogging time for the last few weeks and it has been hindering what I can review/write about.  I finally got fed up and started researching lightboxes and some of them are really expensive.  I found a few DIYs on the internet and decided to go for it... here is my tale!

Manic(ure) Monday: Naked Nails and Treatments

Yep, you read it right.  No polish today.  For weeks now my nails have been peeling and breaking off and they are all at different lengths.  They are stained and basically just in bad shape all the way around.  I have some new products that I want to test so I am dedicating this entire week (maybe a little less because I am weak) to being nail polish free and totally nourishing my nails!  Here are a few of the products I plan to use to get them back in shape...

Guerlain Meteorites: Perles Du Dragon

Guerlain Meteorites are one of my favorite products.  They are multi-functional balls that are multi-colored and create a beautiful luminescence while still being subtle.  I sometimes use them as a highlight or for a light dusting all over.  I was excited when the new Perles Du Dragon Meteorites were released because the colors of the individual balls look fascinating.  Not to mention the packaging is pretty fabulous!

Skincare Review: Cellnique and b.liv

Cellnique is a brand that has been around since 1996.  They started out in Malaysia and opened their first salon in 2001.  The brand launched their website in 2004 and a pro brand in 2005 called b.liv.  In 2007 they started spreading into other Asian markets as well as all over the world via the internet.  I have a been testing a few products and I am really impressed thus far.

Over the last few months I have been loving the Revlon Brow Fantasy Pencil/Brow Gel duo.  I am kind of an eyebrow fanatic.  I feel naked if I haven't done my brows.  It actually changes my entire appearance when my brows aren't done.  I love this product for filling in the brows on the go.

For the last two days where I live has been a fall wonderland.  I know, I am in Florida... there are no leaves changing colors or falling off the trees but the weather as been low 60s and just wonderful.  I don't know what it is about the cooler weather, but that static in the air always gets a bug in me to go for jewel tones and anything reminiscent of fall.

Review: Lancome Color Design Infinite

It seems as though I am becoming a huge fan of Lancome!  Until this last year or two I have never really tried much from the brand, always wrote it off because it was my mother's makeup brand of choice...  My mom never wears much makeup but when she does, she wears a good bit of Lancome.  I feel like all cosmetics brands are breaking new ground recently and here is a brand new item from Lancome called Color Design Infinite.

Over the last few weeks I have been adding the products from the Own Bio-Activating Skin Care line into my routine.  So far I have been pretty well impressed.  Own Skin Care is an all-natural skincare line.  The company focuses on delivering products that create beautiful skin without all of the the harsh chemicals.

Taupe-tastic Tuesday: Lancome Taupe Craze GWP palette

This Taupe-tastic Tuesday is a bit different than usual for me.  I typically review a single taupe product that I have had in my collection and previously worn but I was so impressed with a Lancome Gift With Purchase that I recently received I had to show you everything immediately.  Of course, towards the end I will get to the taupe swatches because I know that is what you are waiting for! ;)

As you can see by the title this is the October 2012 Sample Society box from BeautyBar.com.  This box runs $15 a month but always includes a $15 gift code to redeem on a purchase that includes at least one item from one of the brand's in that months box.  They don't expect you to use it before the month is over or anything, they do allow you a couple of months or so to get a feel for that brand before the code expires.

REVIEW: Malibu C Swimmers Wellness

A few months ago I had a swimming pool built in my backyard.  I have been spending a lot of time in it over the last few months and enjoyed every minute of it.  After a few weeks I started noticing a ton of build-up on my scalp.  I was pretty grossed out when I started noticing it because I have never experienced anything like it in the past.  I recently tried the Malibu C Swimmers Wellness kit and was amazed at the quick results.

Sephora has a Dior 500 Point Perk

I have an enormous amount of points built up in my beauty vault with Sephora.  I never want any of the point perks and when I do finally want to cash in on one they are out of stock or something similar...

Over the weekend I got this fabulosu email and POUNCED on the opportunity.  I think I bought a $3 sale nail polish and paid small shipping charges and was able to get this as well! :) YAY!  I don't need or want anything right now but this perk was too good to pass up.  I got a shipping confirmation on it today so I will take pictures to show you all very soon! 

I am mostly positive that the beauty items are all minis but I am not concerned.  I rarely use a lipstick up before it turns anyway.  The charm bracelet looks pretty so that will be fun to sport for a while.  Do you save your Sephora points or squander them as soon as you accumulate enough?  Let me know in the comments below!

NewBeauty Test Tube for QVC Fall 2012 Sneak Peek

Hello beautiful ladies!  As usual I am posting the contents of the NewBeauty for QVC Test Tube a little early.  For those of you that don't know what the program is: NewBeauty magazine (which retails for $10 on it's own) puts out a Test Tube just about every quarter.  The package consists of 7-9 different beauty products to sample and it retails for $29.99 and includes the magazine.
