Glossybox: Glamour, Glitz and Gloss

This Glossybox: Glamour, Glitz & Gloss is the holiday edition box.  :D  I am adoring this box.  I honestly think that this is my favorite box yet.  There is a lot to show you, so if you wanna grab a drink or snack feel free to do that now…
Look how much stuff is stuffed into this regular sized box.  When I was bringing it into my house I was thinking to myself, “Man, this feels pretty heavy.”  And I wasn’t wrong.  I am showing these products in no specific order.

Mark Lipclick Luxe Lipstick in m.powerment petal is a gorgeous shade of lipstick included in the box.  The limited edition creamy rose lipstick is luminous and hydrating, but was developed to raise awareness for a powerful women’s cause.  Apply, close, then click with the metallic pink case that clicks every time you close it.  What a fun sound.  :)

In the tube it looks like a nice light rose shade, but my lips changed it into a bright pink color.  I agree with the claims of luminous and hydrating.  Look at the high shine that transferred to my lips.  Your lips may not have the same effect on the color as mine, but this is a gorgeous shade none-the-less.

Also as a special gift, Glossybox included a piece of jewelry from Jewelmint.  I am already a customer of Jewelmint and was THRILLED to see this in my box.  This little gift is worth the cost of the Glossybox alone.  Amazing.  This is the Treasure Trove Pendant.  It is super interesting because the top  pops off and there is a little hidey-hole.  The top pops right back on with a powerful magnet.  Very pretty!

Zoya Ziv is a gorgeous shade of ail laquer included in this box.  It is a beautiful opaque, sparkly, glitzy gold.  Amazing really.

It is hard to capture it’s beauty in 1 or even 2 pictures.  But as you see–it isn’t some flimsy little glitter polish.  It is a polish that happens to be glittery.

As you can see, in the dim flash the sparkle from this polish is amazing and over the top.  PERFECTLY in time for New Years Eve.

Since being pregnant all I want to do is take baths.  There are a couple of different products included in this box specifically for the bath.   The first being this Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda Madurai Jasmine & Mogra Bath & Shower Gel. (Whew! Long title.)  It is a after-bath and shower moisturizer and it has a seductive blend of essential and all-natural oils formulated to leave your skin smooth, with a subtle, seductive scent.  Apply this oil on wet skin to seal in moisture.

The other product for bathing is a Heartland Fragrance Co. Bath Salt.  It is in the scent White Tea.  It allows you to indulge in healing aromatherapy with it’s 100% pure Epsom bath salts.  Treat yourself to a full body boose with these herb-infused accents in your bathing routing.  Use weekly to dramatically reduce tension and refresh your skin.

Issey Miyake Pleats Please was included in this box as a sample.  It is the EXCLUSIVE USA online launch partner.  It smells AMAZING!  It is a soft fragrance that is sensual, effervescent, and addictive.  It is supposed to embody the essence of joy, felinity, and elegance.

I am a huge fan of Wella products.  This box includes the Velvet Amplifier.  It is a velvety soft styling primer.  It is a concentrated serum to improve manageability and amplify control for smooth, responsive styling.

And the last thing included in this box is the awesome Glossybox Mag. It is a mini magazine that has tips and trends and write-ups on great products.  Always a fun read.

On the opening page there is a write-up on the Bath and Shower oil that is included in this box.

I hope you loved seeing all the great things included in this Glossybox.  I definitely enjoyed sharing them with you.  Do you subscribe to this program, if not then what are you waiting for???  :)

Review and Giveaway: Harvey Prince Eau Flirt

Scents are such a personal thing.  What appeals to some may not appeal to most.  I have been testing out the Harvey Prince Eau Flirt scent for a month now and not only do I love it but when I have asked others (and I have asked everyone) they all love it too.
I want to start with some info from the brand before I get into my opinion.

“This perfume flirts for you.

It starts with whispers…“Who’s that girl?” The irresistible and flirty fragrance of Eau Flirt captures the imagination of the entire room with the subtle, sexy allure of flowers and spice.

“What’s her secret?” Lean in closer. The fragrance contains notes of pumpkin pie and lavender, which have been shown to evoke a more passionate response in men than any other smell. Why do men find these two scents so arousing? Experts believe men subconsciously associate pumpkin and lavender with happy, positive and stimulating memories.

An encounter with Eau Flirt reveals top notes of sweet lavender and a cocktail of bright citrus, followed by a mingling of feminine florals freesia, ylang ylang and jasmine. Delicate spices and warm nighttime amber offer a graceful and balanced flourish.

Notes: Lavender, Pumpkin Pie, Citrus, Jasmine, Freesia, Ylang Ylang, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Ambers
Style: Seductive. Sparkling. Wicked.”

I can’t put my finger on what I think this fragrance smells like, but it is amazing.  I agree that it is definitely a flirty fragrance.  I think that the wide variety of scents in this fragrance is what makes it appealing to the masses.

Not only is it appealing to the nose, but the sense of sight is equally important to me.  I love the bottle of this perfume.  It is wider at the base than it is at the top (which is also a flirty design) and the color is a beautiful shade of green.  The girl on the bottle is also a pleasant design.  Overall I really enjoy it.
I would also like to mention that the longevity of this fragrance is awesome.  I work seriously long days now and I can spray this on in the morning and my husband has mentioned that he still smells it on me when I get home almost 12 hours later.

Not only am I reviewing the Harvey Prince Eau Flirt fragrance (and I give it 5 out of 5 stars) they have generously offered a full sized bottle to one of my readers.  I am so excited that I have such a wonderful product to give away I wanted to get the giveaway up immediately.  It is going to run until January 4th, so it will be open for one week.  Follow the directions in the Rafflecopter widget.

Neuma NeuVolume Shampoo and Conditioner

My hair is pretty fine and to put it bluntly… FLAT.  I have a hard time finding a shampoo conditioner combo to give me a good lift.  I have found that most volumizing shampoo/conditioners usually leave my hair dry and sort of static-y.  Neuma NeuVolume is a great line and I want to share some facts and my opinion.

Neuma is a brand that is sold exclusively at fine salons.
Sometimes I feel that the reason a lot of shampoos dry your hair out is because they are made with a bunch of unnecessary chemicals.  Neuma formulates their products with no synthetic fragrance, sulfates, parabens, 1,4-dioxane, phthalates, glutens, neurotoxins, aluminum compounds, glycols, formaldehyde, donors, ureas, carcinogens and environmental pollutants.

Each of these products contain the brand’s signature Phyto Color Complex and Phyto UV Shield to protect hair color, and provide nourishment.  Not only does this line volumize my hair but it claims to also extend the color of treated hair.  I have no way to test that because my hair is all natural in color.  I do find that my hair feels thicker, fuller, and has more body.  I used to only shower and such in the morning because I felt that it was the only way to get a nice bounce to my hair but with this line I have been showering in the evening and the bounce is still in my hair the next day.

The Shampoo is sulfate-free and contains lots plant extracts and essential oils plus coconut fruit extract to smooth and soften hair.  It also includes sunflower seed oil to provide UV protection while adding shine and shielding hair from heat damange, and shea butter to add moisture to help prevent frizz.

The Conditioner is lightweight, detangles, and gives hair dimension plus shine.  In addition to containing plant extracts an essential oils, this conditioner contains a few other things:  Tapioca starch to help soften and smooth hair, vegetable protein to strengthen strands while adding shine, pomegranate extract which is a natural exfoliant, and vegetable based glycerin to balance moisture without adding weight.  I think that the conditioner is excellent and giving the right amount of moisture without weighing the hair down.

In the picture above the shampoo is on the left and the conditioner is on the right.  The shampoo has an orange-ish-tan color to it and is quite thin.  The conditioner is thicker in texture but spreads really easily through the hair.  I really enjoy that these wash out of my hair with no trace of product left over.  I also want to mention that the scent of this is nice and light and sort-of herbal-y.  I can barely smell a trace of the scent after I am done shampooing and conditioning.  I know a lot of people are sensitive to fragrance and I feel that they would really enjoy this line.
I give Neuma NeuVolume two thumbs up.  I enjoy this line so much and would recommend them to anyone.  These retail for $24 each and are only available at fine salons.  Here is a link to the information directly from the Neuma site.
I hope you found this review helpful.  I am in love with this shampoo and conditioner combo and plan on purchasing more as soon as I run out.  I found some great links on Amazon, so if you don’t have a salon near you that sells this line it is available online.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Brow and Hair Powder

I am really excited to share with you my review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Brow & Hair Powder.  I have been interested in a dip-dye-do for a long time but my job doesn’t really allow for it.  I am so glad that this product was invented!

It is a bright brow and hair color that wipes on and washes out.  This is an alternative to the hair chalks that you have recently seen pop up on the market.  Chalks will dry your hair out and they aren’t usually safe for cosmetic use on brows or near the eyes.  Hypercolor is the answer!

There are 5 shades to choose from and they are all extremely pigmented!
Teal Tornado is just how it reads: teal.

In The Pink is the only shade that isn’t safe for cosmetics use on brows.  My guess is that it may contain carmine which typically is restricted from eye usage.  So this is strictly for hair use, if you attempt to use it on your brows (near your eyes) that is at your own risk.

Mega Watt Green is a lime, almost hilighter-like green.  It basically glows.  It is surprisingly one of my favorite shades.

Ulta Violet is a beautiful, bright violet shade.  It is my favorite shade on myself.  I think it is due to the natural color of my hair.  It works really well with this color.

Electric Blue is a bright, neon blue.

My only go with these so far has been playing on my brows.  I plan to wear them in my hair very soon on a day that I wont have to work.  I enjoyed this look sooo much on my brows.  I kept all of my other makeup rather muted but really played up my eyes and I wanted soooo badly to wear it to work, but I knew I couldn’t.  I was nervous at first about being able to wash it off to be able to go to work on time.  I used a cotton swab and eye-makeup remover and it came right off.

I wore the look throughout my house for a couple of hours until I had to be at work though.  My son loved my “rainbow brows.”  He asked me if they were permanent and when I told him they weren’t he got a little sad.  HAHA  I love kids!

I took a close up to show you a better shot of the brow powders at work.  I used them in an order that blended naturally.  I really liked how they turned out.

Update:  Today I used it in my hair and I looooove it to.  Here is a picture of it.  So quick and easy.  I am very impressed at how well it shows up on dark hair.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Brow and Hair Powder comes in the 5 shades mentioned above and retail for $12.50 each.  They arrive at certain stores, including Ulta, on December 26, 2012.  They are already available at anastasia.net.
I am a huge fan and will absolutely recommend these to anyone.  I am not a person that typically  experiments with brights, but with a product that washes out I can get all of the fun without any of the commitment.  What is it that you have done recently that took you a step out of your comfort zone?  Tell me below and don’t forget to include if you liked it or not!
