Manic(ure) Monday: Naked Nails and Treatments

Yep, you read it right.  No polish today.  For weeks now my nails have been peeling and breaking off and they are all at different lengths.  They are stained and basically just in bad shape all the way around.  I have some new products that I want to test so I am dedicating this entire week (maybe a little less because I am weak) to being nail polish free and totally nourishing my nails!  Here are a few of the products I plan to use to get them back in shape…

The products I am using to do this are: the Julep Essential Cuticle Oil, Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticles Hand Cream, Strong Nail System Daily Moisturizer, and a 4 sided buffer.
The Julep Essential Cuticle Oil is a product I have been using for nearly a year now.  I love it.  It is deeply hydrating and sturdy.  I have it tucked down in a side pocket on my purse and pull it out when I have down time (or when I think about it).
The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream is a GREAT hand cream.  The texture is hard to describe but it makes my hands feel like silk afterwards.  It softens hands, strengthens nails, and minimizes age spots.  I have an age spot on my left hand and it really bothers me.  I am slightly insecure about it… Not really sure why but I have noticed slight fading over the last few months since I have been using this hand cream regularly.  I keep this stowed away in my handbag too!
Sally Hansen is a genius of a lady!  She creates so many fabulous products and her Nails & Cuticles Hand Cream is nothing short of terrific.  It has a light citrus scent and uses shea butter to moisturize.  I really like the feel of this hand cream as well.  It leaves my hands feeling nourished.  Lots of times I dab a bit of the cream just on the cuticles and rub it in.  Instant pick me up for dried up cuticles.
Strong Nail System Daily Moisturizer is a product that I am just now starting to use.  I don’t have much to report on as I am still in the early stages of testing.  It contains Jojoba Oil which moisturizes the cuticle and brings a balance to the moisture in the nail to prevent brittleness.  It also contains Keratin which I find really interest.  I have a lot hope in this product, so wish it luck! ;)
And the Tropical Shine Mini 4-way Buffer is an item I pick up from Sally’s nearly every time I enter the store.  I have used this specific buffer for years.  This is my bazillionth one.  Let me just call it “ole trusty!”  I love it.  It helps me get the staining off of the top layer of my nails and also perfect them.  It leaves me with no ridges and if I just want naked nails it brings them to a BEAUTIFUL high shine finish.  Like I have 3 coats of clear polish! :)  I love it. (I know I already said it, but I really do!)
