Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in RD203 Portrait
I have been wanting the Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Portrait (RD203) for well over a month now. I finally bit the bullet and got it over the weekend and I am thrilled that I did!
I love high end lipsticks and glosses but it sort of irritates me that many of them assign 2 names (an actual word as well as a sequence of letters and numbers) and then don't put the one easily identifiable on the packaging. I am a human and can remember a real word easier than I can remember a sequence of letters and numbers! With that being said, that is the ONLY complaint that I have with this product.
The tube is an interesting shape, much like the Shiseido logo itself, and it sports a doe-foot applicator. The packaging doesn't allow for a ton of excess to come out on the wand so you aren't wasting a lot of product or making a mess, which I really like.
I have mentioned several times that I am more of a gloss type of person versus lipsticks and one thing I LOVE about the Lacquer Rouge is that it is a lipstick in a gloss form. On coat of this Lacquer Rouge and you can get a perfectly opaque deposit of color. It can be sheered out or layered on to make a bit more of a statement.
I have freckles all over my lips and the lip swatch below is just one coat. It completely covered any imperfections on my lip and it is quite moisturizing. I wore this a few days in a row and I noticed that it lasts a long time, much longer than I had expected. I remember going to lunch at work the other day and my lipstick still being there from 4 hours prior.
Here is a look I did over the weekend with the lipstick. I can't remember exactly what I was using for everything but you can totally see that it works well as a neutral color.
I am pretty sure I am wearing MAC Pink Opal Pigment on my lids but other than that I can't remember.
Shiseido Lacquer Rouge retails for $25 and you can find them in stores like Sephora, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and Shiseido.com.
Have you seen the Shiseido Lacquer Rouge display? All of the colors look promising. I know I will be back to check more out. Let me know in the comments below if you prefer nude lips or bold lips! I love reading your preferences and am always inspired by you!

Very nice! I haven't really paid attention to Shiseido's lip gloss line but it looks like its worth checking out.
