REVIEW: Besame Brightening Violet Powder

I have recently had the extreme pleasure of testing out the Besame Brightening Violet Powder.  It is a multi-tasking powder and I am excited to share with you my opinion.

Here is how Besame Cosmetics describes it:
“Brightening Violet Powder is a translucent loose powder that adds just a hint of brightness for an instant lift to any complexion. Sets make-up beautifully and leaves a soft matte finish. The powder does not contain shimmers, but brightens because of the unique violet hue in this special formula. Deliciously fragrant, it suits any skin tone. Wear alone, over foundation or to add a lightness to tired eyes and under eye circles.”

The packaging is wonderfully reminiscent of a vintage powder compact on the outside and extremely modern, even ground-breaking, on the inside.  The biggest gripe I have about loose powders is the mess that is created due to the room left between the stopper and the lid.  Soooo much product can get through the holes and it tends to create a huge mess which hinders many into the awesome-ness that is loose powder.  This compact has a flip top lid that lays flush over the holes and prevents any excess product from getting through.

The powder looks slightly violet tinted in the sifter jar but on my skin it appears like any other white/translucent powder.  The violet tint isn’t just a gimmick, it really wakes your face up and makes any sallowness that was there previously disappear.  I specifically like this powder for my under-eye area.  After I use a concealer I set it with this powder to give me a wide-awake appearance.
Also, the scent of this amazing powder is great.  It is uplifting.  It reminds me of a mixture of the Guerlain Meteorites and the Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blushes.  So not only is this brightening your complexion, it is brightening your spirits.

The swatch above is a thick swipe of product.  I used a fluffy brush and blended it into my hand and, as you can see below, it picked the color up a notch and diffused imperfections.  It also didn’t leave behind any noticeable color or shimmer.  The formula is matte so it really just makes you skin look like fresh, oil-free skin.  How great is that?

Besame Brightening Violet Powder retails for $22 on besamecosmetics.com.  I am not sure of any locations you can purchase the fabulous line in person, but the more I try the more I want.  I give this powder 2 thumbs up and urge anyone interested to definitely give it a try.  :)  Have you ever tried anything from Besame Cosmetics?  If so, let me know what you thought of it in the comments below.

My powder seemed to be almost chunky, which I now love since I sift a few chunks, break them down with a brush and use. Less fall out, and super easy. I wish they made this in a larger size though. lovely product and great review!
