Anastasia Beverly Hills: Kisses On My List, Holiday 2012
Lipgloss is one of my favorite beauty products. I have a ton of lipsticks, but I hardly ever reach for them throughout the day. They take a bit more precision and can be a tad bit more fussy than just throwing on a lipgloss and going. Most of the time I do rock a more natural look anyway so a light coat of gloss usually does the trick nicely. Anastasia Beverly Hills has a new set of glosses for her Holiday 2012 collection that I instantly knew I would love as soon as I saw it.
The Set is called Kisses On My List Volume 2 and it contains the amazing Hydrafull glosses. The Hydrafull glosses have a silicone paddle applicator--it makes it super easy to apply. Last year's set sold out completely, and I am sure this one will too. It has a variation from nudes to pinks to even slightly more pale corals. Two of the shades are cremes and 4 of them are shimmers. 3 of the shades are the new HYPERCOLOR technology. They are brighter and actually leave a bit of a stain behind--I love that because the color will last after the gloss has faded.
Another super fun trend among this collection are the names. Most of the names you will recognize as being rock n roll muses of the 1970's: Sharona, Jolene, Lola, Maggie May, Roxanne, and Moi.
Moi is a beautiful neutral medium pinkish-nude in the creme formula. It is quite pigmented and completely wearable.
The natural color of my lips are a pigmented mauve and as you can see this really mutes out the mauve completely.
Maggie May is also a creme forula and is a light pink nude shade. It is wonderfully pigmented and is also very wearable.
You can see the pigment in this lipgloss is still enough to mute the natural color of my lips.
Sharona is a gorgeous shimmery light peach-almost-coral shade. It has less pigment than the creme formula but it still does deposit some color.
You can see some of the freckles on my lips through the gloss, but you can also pick up on the pretty shade. The shimmer adds that touch of glamour--perfect for those holiday parties you will be attending.
Lola is a pretty shimmer cool toned pink. I am pretty sure this one (and the next two) are the HYPERCOLOR shades.
It is brighter than the first three shades. It definitely left my lips tinted after I took it off.
Jolene is in the shimmer formula. It is a light cool toned bubble-gum pink.
This one may be less wearable for most but the HYPERCOLOR glosses adjust to form a color that suits you so I don't think that wear-ability will really be a problem.
Roxanne is also a shimmer shade. It is a neutral pink tone, and even though it looks less bright than Jolene and Lola it definitely adjusted to a brighter tone on my lips.
The color may have been working with my natural cool toned mauve lips to create the bighter pink, unsure. I think this one could possible me my favorite out of the shimmer shades.
Here are the swatches next to each other on my arm. The top set of swatches were outside under direct daylight and the bottom were taken indoors with a flash. You can see that you get a great range of colors and all in shades that are perfect for the holidays. Typically in the fall and winter seasons I opt for heavier eye makeup and go for a more neutral lip. I love that they have warm and cool tones in the set.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Kisses On My Lips Volume 2 will retail for $30 and will be available at Sephora.com for the holiday season. Unsure of the exact release date but as soon as I do know I will update the information to keep you all informed. The set is perfectly paired with the Want You To Want Me eye set that will be released at the same time.
So, out of all the swatches on the lips and side by side, which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
