REVIEW: nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin
I have never actually had the salon keratin treatments nor have I tried salon exclusive keratin systems before, but I am willing to bet that there isn't much difference between those and the nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin line.
This is an entire system that helps repair cuticles of the hair, regenerates and strengthens hair fibers, restores natural shine and softness, seals hair cuticles, reduces volume and frizz, makes hair resilient and healthy, and best of all: formaldehyde and sodium-chloride free. It works with all hair types! It is recommended for those who have had a professional treatment; it will help keep the results of the treatment lasting longer.
The first step in the system is the Deep Moisturizing Shampoo and the Deep Conditioner. They work just like regular shampoos or conditioners. The shampoo has a decent lather and the conditioner leaves my hair feeling smooth and hydrated. It smells nice and makes my hair feel even nicer.
The Liquid Keratin Leave-In Reconstructor is my favorite part. You basically take some of this and run it through towel-dried/damp hair and let it sink in for a minute or two. You blow dry it and then use a flat iron to seal it into your hair. This step penetrates the keratin into the hair fiber itself.
When I do this my hair looks extremely silky and perfect. My hair has never looked more straight and weightless ever. I have used salon grade sprays that are supposed to act as starch (like you were ironing clothes) and even though I was impressed with those at the time, they don't hold a candle to this. They starch-y sprays would make my hair feel brittle and uncomfortable where this makes it feel healthy, and make my hair look like it is perfectly straight naturally.
The Serum Ultra Shine is brilliant for adding extra shine (as if you needed it after the first 3 products) and smoothing out any fly-aways. I don't really have fly-aways after flat ironing my hair and I also don't have any need for added shine but I do take a tiny bit of this in my finger tips and work it into my ends. It adds another layer of protection to the hair and it also increases flexibility.
The Intensive Hair Mask is to be used after the Deep Moisturizing Shampoo instead of the Deep Conditioner. After you have shampooed the hair, the mask is applied and you let it sit for 10-20 minutes. This is an intense treatment to hydrate and repair any damage. You use this step once every week or two. I have used it a couple times and I love it. I don't think I am supposed to do this, but I have also used it as if it were regular conditioner some days. It really helps my hair feel luxurious.
I cannot say enough good things about this line... What is even better? They retail at drugstore prices. Each item retails from $4-10, give or take a dollar or two. The quality of these products are outstanding and I was surprised to learn that these weren't salon exclusive products. You can find these products and others from nuNAAT at Walgreens, Drugstore.com, and SallyBeauty.com. If you want to read more about the brand go to nunaat.com. Also keep up with what is going on with the brand on their Facebook and Twitter.
I hope that you found this post informational because I really believe in nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin line and I urge each and every one of you to try it out. Have you ever tried anything from nuNAAT? Have you ever seen it in Walgreens?
