Taupe-tastic Tuesday: Addiction Flashback
I have an extreme love affair with taupe... like you didn't already know? I am going to start doing a series on my favorite taupes. I am going to do my best to show ones that are still available, but I can't make any promises. One of my hobbies is collecting taupes that are hard to find so I have a lot of them. Most of the hard to find ones were found on blog sales or other various places on the internet. The first being from a Kose line called Addiction in the shade Flashback.
The name of the line totally suits me and my site! :) Is it possible that My Newest Addiction is addicted to Addiction?
The box the eyeshadow comes in is very basic, and the packaging of the eyeshadow is fairly basic. Basic as it may be, I really love it. The name of the brand being indented into the top is not ground breaking but I enjoy the effect it gives. These eyeshadows are intended to be "depotted" and placed into palettes made by the brand... Much like Shu Uemura eyeshadows.
Onto the good stuff! The color is absolutely breath-taking. This eyeshadow alone represents everything I love about taupes.
This taupe can be described as a brown with a silvery grey flash through it. I don't know if you can see, but there seems to be tiny holographic specs in it as well. The pigmentation is of the best that I have ever tried. And the texture is so soft and fine, it melts right into the skin on contact.
Swatches
On the left you can see a blended swatch and on the right a concentrated swipe.
Another thing I adore about this eyeshadow is the utterly gorgeous metallic shine. It is beautiful!
Also here is what it looks like on my eyes.
I hope you enjoyed the first Taupe-tastic Tuesday! I love taupes and this one is on the fast track to being my all time favorite. It is a little costly for people not living in Japan because we have to buy it from 3rd party retailers/shippers. Addiction eyeshadows run about $40 each. If you are a taupe collecter than I absolutely recommend you indulge and pick this one up! I am sure it won't disappoint!
What is your favorite taupe? What is a taupe that you would like to see next?
