Anastasia Beverly Hills recently debuted a new palette called She Wears It Well. It was designed with old Hollywood Glamour in mind and has just enough taupe to qualify for my Taupe-tastic Tuesday post! See what I did there? haha
The packaging is simple but cute. There is a pink sleeve that houses the palette and the palette itself has a faux croco finish with simple details here and there. Magnetic closure that is sturdy.
Inside there are 9 pigment-rich eyeshadows (8 are .025 oz, and one is .063). The palette comes with a small dual-ended brush, one side for laying color down and one side for blending. There is also a decent sized mirror to aid in application if you are on-the-go.
The colors themselves are beautiful! There are 3 matte shades in a light, medium and dark color. All of the shimmery shades are mid-tone colors. The palette is also sort of divided, and the organization freak in me likes that a lot. I like that all the matte shades are located together.
The shimmery shades are terrific, they are creamy, blendable, soft, and did I say beautiful once already?
Three of the next finger swatches are mattes (the first 3 left to right) and one is more of a satin-finish. These are silky to the touch and quite nice as well. I had a hard time getting the lightest shade to show up at all but I don’t know if that was due to my skin tone or the eyeshadow itself.
I love the name of this palette because I feel like neutral eyeshadows are something everyone needs in the palette and I think everyone wears them well. I also like that there are cool and warm shades included.
Trophy is a beautiful shimmery taupe.
Glow is a nice shimmery bronze shade.
Latte is a shimmery, pretty, light milky chocolate color.
Foxy is a cocoa brown with copper shimmer.
Sunset is a champagne-ish gold shimmer.
Frosting is a light cupcake pink shimmer.
Onyx is a matte black.
Almond is a matte light skin-toned shade. You can’t even see it against my natural color.
I think this is a great concise palette. It has everything you need for a complete look: dark, light, matte, shimmer. It even includes a brush and a mirror. For the ladies that are looking for a no-fuss travel makeup palette this is definitely a go-to! I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this beauty up! I would dare to say that it rivals is better than Naked 1 and 2.

The scent of coconut in the summertime is like a wish I never consciously made granted. I have been indulging my senses with the Elizabeth Grant’s Island Coconut collection.
Elizabeth Grant’s says:
“Escape to the Islands with this sensual blend of coconut against your skin. The three piece Island Coconut Kit transports you to a tropical getaway as you cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize to a more beautiful, healthier skin.”
One of the most important parts of my skincare routine is exfoliation, whether it be for the face or body. The Body Scrub in this kit is amazing. It has the scrubby bits in it but they aren’t overly abrasive, and they sit in a nice thick moisturizing base. I was reading through all of the ingredients trying to figure out what exactly makes it so luxurious and I came to a conclusion: all of them. I honestly feel that while you are scrubbing it into your skin you are coating your body with a thick buttery layer and it really allows your dead skin to flake off and your moisture to be sealed in. I am astonished by how much I enjoyed this. I have used SEVERAL body scrubs in the past and none of them held in the moisture like this one does.
You can see the little scrubby bits in the picture above.
The Shower Gel is pretty and pearlescent. It is pleasing to the eyes as well as the nose. It also has a great list of nutrients. I noticed that while I am using this in the shower in the morning I tend to take a little longer than usual. It really is a nice scent and it lathers VERY WELL. I use it with a shower poof as well as without one. I find that the lather is a bit more condensed when I don’t use a poof.
I was trying to capture the beautiful pearlescent quality in this picture but instead all I could manage to get was a bit of blur. :)
Last but not least is the Body Lotion. It is the perfect follow up to the shower gel, and it smells a tad bit sweeter. I mentioned before that I love layering products to help with the longevity of a scent. It smells great of course but it is a great moisturizer. Instead of being a body lotion it feels more creamy.
I have been using these products for a couple weeks and I have seen a difference in the skin on my arms and legs. I have been exfoliating 2-3 times a week (which I normally keep it to once but it is summer and I am showing more skin) and using the shower gel and body lotion daily. My skin is softer and more supple and honestly, I don’t really notice any lines (which I will chock up to usually being dehydrated), For some reason I have an oily face and hair but my body is as dry as the Sahara and drinks up lotion before it has even had a chance to set. The entire kit retails for $24.99 at ElizabethGrant.com (link to the kit here).
Is there a scent that you can’t seem to live without during the summer? Also, do you layer your scents? Let me know in the comments below!

In case any of you lovely ladies(or gents) missed out on the OPI Teenage Dream, just like myself, I am happy to bring you a pretty dead on dupe. It is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polish in Strobe Light.
I don’t have the OPI, but Strobe Light is a very close dupe. I have seen Teenage Dream in person and I would say that the base of it is more pigmented pink and the glitter is a tad bit smaller. Strobe Light pulls SLIGHTLY silver if you layer a few coats on. I love the holo flashes (which you can see below) and it is just beautiful layered over other colors.
I think this is a great alternative to the limited edition OPI shade and at about half the price. I got mine when there was a sale running at one of my local drugstores and I paid around $2-3. Run and check it out!
Do you wear glitter on your mani, or do you keep it to just one nail? Do you wear glitter at all, ever? Let me know in the comments below.
I got the TotalBeauty Collection box last week and I was super excited to see the goodies they included inside. A few facts about this sample box first: no subscription necessary, each box contains 4-5 samples – which could be cosmetics, skincare or hair care, runs $15 a box, and there is a limited supply of each box. Because there is no subscription necessary and the limited supply you better purchase fast if you want it each month. :)
This is the first TotalBeauty Collection box I have ever received and I had high hopes after seeing a few different bloggers post the contents on their box. I am going to start with mentioning the packaging. I like the sleek container that the products come in. It is different from the other sample boxes in its shape and structure. It also isn’t overly wastefull with tissue paper around everything. I know that I enjoy seeing the super cute packaging of some monthly boxes but at the same time it really isn’t necessary, and could definitely be eliminated.
One of the great items in this box is a MURAD Youthful Skin Trio which includes:
Sheer Lustre Day Moisturizer
Renewing Eye Cream (which I am super excited about because I ♥ eye cream)
I already own one of their cleansers and I fell in love with it so it will be nice to be able to give this one a try.
Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray was also included in this box. I have been wanting to try one of these for a long long time, I just never actually spend the money. I am so glad to be able to try it before committing to the full size bottle.
I have never owned anything from ZENTS before but they included a body lotion and a couple samples in this beautiful mesh bag. It is supposed to be an ultra-hydrating hand and body lotion. It has ingredients such as 100% organic shea butter and Sodium PCA,which is supposed to draw and hold moisture to hydrate, plump lines, and improve elasticity to the skin.
There was a Bonus Offer in this box for Sole Society for $15. You probably have seen how infatuated I am with jewelry and shoes recently, so I will definitely put it to good use. :)
I am completely pleased with this box. I already wanted one of the items and the other items in the box interest me a great deal. Do any of you beautiful people get this sample box? If so, what is the favorite thing you have gotten? If not, tell me what you would like to see in a sample box.

It has been a long time since I did a video where I show you how I do my makeup. I decided to go ahead and film while I was getting ready for work the other day. I also included some still pictures of the look I created.
The top picture is the only one that I took outside in real sunlight. The rest were taken inside my house.
I really really like the way the LORAC Exposed blush looks on me. :) It really finished off this look perfectly.
And here are my lashes! It is insane how much I love the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill mascara and also the RevitaLash that I have been using.
The lipstick I am using is the Giorgio Armani Beige 102.
And here is the video. Don’t make fun of me! I am not all that great in front of a camera but I try for those of you that keep asking me for a tutorial and YouTube videos in general. Thank you for believing in me and making my day asking for these videos! <3

I have been meaning to show you all this lip balm I found for a while now. I love a good lip balm and especially love one with a nice tint. NYX Cosmetics came out with a new line of Color Lip Balms and I jumped at the chance to try it.
I think that I have finally found a nice moisturizing color balm product in this. It smells nice, it has decent color payoff, and the slip is perfect. Not greasy and not dry, just right.
I like a good nude/my lips but better shade so this one was right up my alley. The color name is CLB10 Tack. I think they could have chosen better names, but who knows… I never understand why brands want to name some of their products such weird things.
In the swatch above the right side is a heavy swipe and the left is it blended out. I don’t really have much else to say about NYX Color Lip Balm, but I do urge you to run out and try it. I bought a couple and gave one to a friend immediately. She loved it too! What are you using as lip balm right now in the dog days of summer? Let me know in the comments below!
Hello folks! I am not quite sure if you noticed that I added BlogHerTV to the top right corner of my blog. It is a new option that BlogHer offers to their network and I wasn’t quite sure I was going to do it at first, but after watching a few of the short clips I was really into it. The first clip I watched was on Balenciaga and the second clip I watched was on the many ways to accessorize scarves. I thought it was a smart addition to my page and I think many of you guys (my readers) would enjoy it.
If you have a minute take a quick peek! They are pretty short and very entertaining. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
I am a huge night owl. I stay up so late (mostly blogging and searching the interwebz for beauty products) and I often need something to pull me back to reality. Reality being the fact that I have a regular job I need to go to usually a few hours after I go to bed! *DOH* The Lavande scent from Le Chatelard 1802 has been helping sooth my senses!
If you are not familiar with Le Chatelard 1802, they are a company who hand-makes all of their products in France. The products from this brand come in many different scents, but what is more French than Lavender? I must say that the packaging is super user friendly and the labels are very shabby chic. Eye pleasing addition to any bathtub or shower!
Le Gel Douche (aka shower gel) is very nice. It builds up into a nice lather, cleanses well without leaving a residue behind, you are also left smelling of lavender fields which is always nice (if you like the scent of lavender). If you aren’t a fan of the scent of lavender then just insert whatever fragrance they make this shower gel in there. :)
Le Lait Corporel (aka body lotion) is something I really enjoy. I love slathering my freshly cleansed skin with a lotion in the same scent. I have always been a fan of layering scents to aide with the longevity of the scent itself. This lotion is nice and light and sinks right into the skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.
This is the natural soap, the brand hand makes this using the traditional recipe of Savon de Marseille.
A few key points about this soap are as follows:
Not tested on animals
Vegetable oils only
No animal fats
The list goes on and on, but I think you get my point. :) This is a very luxurious soap. I recently rediscovered bar soaps and I must say that this one has been a pleasure. My skin feels moisturized and soft afterwards and the scent can lull me right to sleep, so it is definitely something that I use on nights and weekends.
Like the shower gel, this soap lathers and cleanses well.
Overall, I rate this line of bath and body products 5 stars. It provides essential needs and doubles for aromatherapy. I have always said I like my products to work double-time and these sure delivered!
Do you have any special French products in your bath or shower? Something tickles my fancy knowing that these products were handmade in France, which is a place that I have always wanted to go. It is like having a slice of French country-side in my bathroom. :)

As many of you have noticed recently I am more into nails than EVER before. I have been looking for ways to improve the overall health and look of my nails. MASH Nail Treatment Polish Set has 6 different polishes to help kick start a nail regimen!
This polish set comes with 6 individual polishes: A Milky Base Coat, Wet Look Top Coat, Quick Dry Top Coat, Non-Yellowing Top Coat, Strengthener, and a Ridgefiller. I have used them all and I think they are all individually good products. My two personal favorites are the Milky Base Coat and the Wet Look Top Coat. I have really learned the importance of using a base lately since I have gotten more and more into blues on my nails. They tend to stain more easily and these base coats come in handy to prevent any staining. Also I love my nails to look glossy and just-painted, so the Wet Look Top Coat is my favorite of the bunch.
A couple of the handles of the polishes popped off during use so it seems as though the packaging is sub-par. I had only one polish doing it at first but during the video (posted below) another one did the exact same thing… I was ready to write it off as an oops for the first one but not the second one. There should definitely be an improvement on that.
This polish set retails for $9.99 on MASHnails.com and I honestly think it is a fair price. If you break down the cost, you are paying $1.67 for each individual item in the kit.
Also, since I was at it I decided to include a Face Of The Day and Revitalash update in this post.
I am only wearing 4 products in this picture and they are:
Tarte Maracuja Concealer
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer
L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes
As for the length of my lashes… I am still using RevitaLash and I have had amazing results. I put it on after my nightly skincare routine and wake up to healthy, longer lashes. I am truly amazed at this product.
What is your nail care routine? What is a part of your nail care routine that is different or most important in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below.

What is the definition of taupe? Merriam-Webster defines it as a brownish grey. I feel that taupes are much more complex than Merriam- Webster’s definition, but they set the standard of defining. I would say that Cargo Yukon eyeshadow depicts the famous dictionary’s words perfectly.
This is wonderfully soft eyeshadow that feels almost creamy to the touch and blends like nobody’s business! I have oily eyelids and I do use a primer anytime I am wearing some form of makeup on my eyes, but with that being said I do sometimes still crease with primer. This eyeshadow has stood the test of time (a 12 hour work day) and not budged. Not only does it last, it has little to no fallout. It is a miracle formula I tell you!!!
It has a high-shine/frost finish and is perfectly brownish grey, almost tan. Some people say it leans purple/violet but I don’t get that at all. I think because this eyeshadow is such a wonderful neutral shade that it will pair with many different colors. In fact, one of the things I love so much about this eyeshadow is the versatility. You can wear it lightly sheered on the lid during the day and really turn up the sultry with it for a beautiful night look. It has a little something for everyone.
I am pretty sure there are two formulas floating around out there. They discontinued this color for some time after they reformulated the eyeshadow range but I purchased this one around a year ago from an Ulta, so they are being sold.
The swatch below is in direct sunlight, the left side being a heavy swipe and the right side is blended out.
Exact swatch from above but indoors with flash.
I would like to mention that I have been seeking out Chanel Shadowlights in Vega forever and everyone is telling me that this is a pretty good dupe. I wouldn’t be able to confirm or deny.
Do you own any of the Cargo eyeshadows? What do you think of the formula? I hope you don’t feel like I am bombarding you with questions, but is there a taupe you request to see next? Please leave the answers to any or all of these questions in the comments below!
