Some of you may remember a post I did a couple months back letting you know that I had purchased a kit from my local department store of Giorgio Armani items. I had never tried the brand before and was intrigued at this kit because it was put together to offer a super value. The set comes with a cosmetics bag/traincase (which has a great mirror inside of the lid) and it is filled with LOTS of full sized items as well as some sample sized products.
I had intended to do this post months ago but I had lost the files after I edited them. I discovered them today hiding in some abstract folder mixed in with my husbands motorcycle pictures. Weird! So even though I have now changed the domain name to my website these were watermarked before hand. And just to let you know there may be several posts coming up with my old watermark because I had edited a bunch of photos before deciding to move forward with the domain name change.
Anyway–because I bought these products as one purchase I wanted to do the reviews all in one fun review-filled post. So here goes nothing. You may want to grab something to drink or eat because this is one of the longest posts that I have ever done.
The colors were pre-chosen so I was stuck with a Face Fabric in a shade slightly too dark. I know that this will work perfectly for me this summer but for not it is a smidge too much. I have been mixing it with various BB creams and it makes it work perfectly. I can say that it adds more matte long wearing feel to all the BB creams I have mixed it with.
Info from the brand:
“Its unique Micro-fil™ formulations bring lightness and fluidity to makeup, allowing infinite blending and layering to enhance the natural glow of the skin. A subtle, neutral palette is accented with two shades – porcelain and apricot – to be used alone to create a healthy-looking glow, combined with any of the shades to boost the color, or alone to sculpt or highlight the complexion. For normal to oily skin, providing sheer coverage.”
It is priced at $49.
I absolutely love eyeliner and this one is just pretty on the eyes. It is called Smooth Silk Eye Pencil. *SWOON* What a beautiful name for a beautiful product. I love that it is in a pencil form and that the wood around the product is just as black as the eyeliner itself. All that being said it is a super nice product on it’s own. Deep black and lasts forever.
Info from the brand:
“This silky soft formula allows for precise, easy application and versatile looks. Use it to subtly define or to intensify your eye look. Glide the smudger over eyeliner for a sexy, smoky result. Available in a subtle palette from pale taupe to soft black.
For an ultra-glamorous look, extend the eye pencil slightly outside the outer corner of the eyes. Build in other eye lining colors with the eye liner brush and moistened eye shadow.“
Priced at $27.
The kit also included the #10 Fluid Sheer Golden Beige. It is a gorgeous color but at this time it is a tad too dark for me to use to highlight with. I have mixed this into foundation a few times but I find that it is slightly more shimmery than I am accustomed to like. That being said I still adore it and am sure I will get lots of use out of it when I am darker. This is priced at $59.
Fluid Master Primer claims to “smooth the skin’s surface, refine pores and create a perfect canvas.” The company says that it forms a matte yet translucent glow to the skin and also enables the makeup you place on top to last longer. I tested this out a few times and I really agree. I like the primer and if you are a girl that enjoys a good all-in-one primer then this is one that you should jump on it. This is priced at $57.
Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill is cult favorite for the brand. I have been wanting this mascara for a LONG time and to be quite honest it is the reason I purchased the entire kit. I have S E V E R A L mascaras open at the present time so this is one that I haven’t opened yet but I am literally sitting on my hands not to open it up and play with it. Maybe this week. I have thrown a few mascaras away in the last week or two. Keep your eyes out for a special review on this. This mascara is priced at $30.
If there is one thing that I love it is a good nude lip. This lipstick is AMAZING. It is a Rouge d’Armani in the shade Beige 102. It was love at first sight. It has been a go-to color ever since purchase. It has made a permanent home in my makeup/handbag. I never leave home without it. Also it has become a sort of toy for me when my mind is wandering. My hands always have to be doing something wether it is twirling my hair or fiddling with a loose string on my shirt. This has a magnetic closure so I find myself holding it quite often pulling it apart and letting it click back together. Yes, I am one of those people. Priced at $30.
Another beautiful product from this hit was the Gloss D’ Armani in Plum 600. It looks like it is just going to be a regular ole gloss but one you put it on your lips it gives a gorgeous shine and brilliant color pay off. The sparkle that this one contains is noticeable but not obnoxious and the formula of these is like butter. I am not a fan of the sticky gloss committee. I have gotten rid of all the overly sticky glosses in my collection (unless I am in love with a color and can’t find a dupe!) and this one is here to stay!!!!!! Priced at $28.
Swatches L to R: Fluid Sheer #2, Smooth Silk Eye Pencil, #10 Fluid Sheer, Gloss d’Armani Plum 600, Rouge d’Armani Beige 102.
The sample sized products that were included in this kit were a couple skincare items, a couple foundation samples and another fluid sheer. It was the #2 Fluid Sheer Shimmering Beige (swatched above), Luminous Silk Foundation in 5.5, Lasting Silk UV Foundation in 5.5, Regenessence [3.R] Multi-Corrective Rejuvenating Cream, Regenessence [3.R] Youth Regenerator.
The Regenessence [3.R] Youth Regenerator is a gorgeous serum. Even the sample feels amazing: glass jar and glass dropper. The serum itself is a wonderful concentrate for accelerated regeneration. The main ingredients are Linseed Extract to regulate extra-cellular communication, Vitamin CP for collagen regeneration, and ProXylan remodels skin matrix. It supposedly provides 24 hour hydration and can be worn day and night by itself or layered underneath the next product I will talk about.
This serum is a product that I would like to say that I will never be without but it’s full sized price tag is a lot for me to bite off and chew. It is $140 full sized. I am going to give this sample a go all the way through until the end and see if I definitely can’t live without it. Chances are I will be smitten and broke.
The Regennessence [3.R] Multi-Corrective Rejuvenating Cream claims to “act on skin surface to reduce wrinkles, firm skin, correct tone and texture irregularities, and provide 8 hours of hydration. In a silky lightweight texture that leaves skin feeling like velvet. For use day and night after the REGENESSENCE [3.R] Youth Regenerator.” I absolutely love this cream. It smells nice, feels luxurious and my skin looks better because of it. This (full sized) is priced at $125. Why do I have expensive taste?
L to R: Multi-Corrective Rejuvenating Cream, Youth Regenerator
As you can see the cream looks a bit thicker but still on the thin side–this allows it to really sink into the skin nicely. The Youth Regenerator is a transparent serum with a pink tint. Very thin consistency and it sinks in and immediately leaves your skin feeling plump. I love both of these products to pieces.
Thank you for reading my long, rambley, review-filled post. I hope you found the information included helpful. I appreciate all of your support and I wouldn’t still be here doing this if it wasn’t for my readers. Every comment that I get lifts my spirits because it helps me remember that there are other people –just like me– out there that love reading about and experiencing new things in beauty. That being said–have you ever tried Giorgio Armani products?/What was it?/Did you like it? Also tell me about a serum or face product that you fell head over heels in love with.
