Shaping the Eyes

I was searching Google for some eye look inspiration recently and stumbled upon this lil' guy.  I get asked so many times about how to apply eye shadow on different eye shapes and if I could do a tutorial on it.  I would love to be able to do a video on the different eye shapes, the only problem is that would be pretty difficult because my eyes are only shaped one way...

I do find this chart helpful but I want to point out that this is not a set of rules for one to follow when shading and contouring the eye.  This is more of a guideline... Wide set eyes want to draw their eyes in... Close set eyes want to pull their eyes out... Prominent lids want to shade their eyes to make them look less prominent... etc...  I rotate between many of these looks on a regular basis.

This picture shows a lot of shading and contouring methods that I am finding very helpful and I hope that you find this post helpful too.  If you have any questions just let me know in the comments below.  :)

  3. i think the last one fits me best and that's pretty much how i do do my eyes, except I find that it looks better with I take the shadow up and out a little more.

  4. This is so helpful, especially for people who don't know what looks compliment their eye shape.
