Tag: I love lipstick!

1. How many lipsticks do you have?
I don’t honestly know.  A couple of years ago I could honestly answer with a number between 5-10.  Now I have upwards of 30.  That isn’t a lot for some people but on a daily basis I usually only wear gloss.
2. What was the first lipstick that you ever bought?
I can’t honestly remember the exact one but I am going to guess that it was probably from Wet N Wild in my early teens!
3. Which is your newest lipstick?
L’Oreal Fairest Nude

4. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
MAC! I have so many MAC lipsticks and my favorite type of MAC lipstick is their lustre formula.  I prefer sheer glossy colors.

5. Favourite Pink?
Benefit Jing-A-Ling or Revlon Pink in the Afternoon

6. Favourite Nude?
It is a tie!  It would have to be MAC High Tea or L’Oreal Fairest Nude

7. Favourite Peach/Coral?
MAC Ever Hip!  It is such a beautiful coral shade.

8. Favourite Red?
Revlon Really Red

9. Favourite Hot Pink?
I am happy to say that I don’t own one. :D

10. Favourite Brown?
L’Oreal Timeless Tawny or MAC Garden Bed
11. Favourite Rosewood?
Estee Lauder Rose Amethyst

12. Favourite Plum?
MAC Syrup

                                                            13. Other Favourite Lipsticks?

MAC Viva Glam V, MAC Viva Glam VI SE, and MAC Bare slimshine.

14. Favourite Lipglosses?
I have lots of favorite lipglosses.  Narrowing it down to just a few would be MAC Viva Glam Gaga II, Dalton Lip Gloss Pot in Lisa Lou, Korres Cherry Oil lipgloss, and MAC Looks Like Sin cremesheen.

The Wonders of Mascara

So lately I have received a lot of comments on my lashes.  Some people ask me if I have naturally nice lashes or if its mascara.  I always tell them it is the mascara but no one seems to believe me.  People think it is my lashes because whatever mascara I was using at the time doesn’t do the same thing for their lashes.
I will say that mascara is a personal thing.  Depends on your lashes: lash thickness, how they naturally lay, length.  Something I absolutely love may be awful for others and vice versa.  Anyway… in this post I am using Maybelline One by One.  Sorry the quality isn’t awesome, these were taken with my iPhone 4.

Huge difference, huh?  Anyway… I just wanted to address all of the questions and comments! Hope this helps.
Thanks for reading!  Have a great day!

Rushed FOTD

Seems like I have had a hard time getting out of bed before 6am these days.  This morning I woke up at 6:15 and was immediately in a rush.  I have to leave my house by 7:15 in order to make it to work on time.  So in the hour I had to get ready this morning I had to: shower, wake up my son, dress my son, feed my son, get myself ready and feed myself.

Here are my 7 random things:

– I am in LOVE with cosmetics from different countries.  Obsessed, even.
  – Blogging, in general, makes me happy.

– When I was a kid, I wanted to be a writer.  I am a decent drawer and I always wanted to write/illustrate a children’s book.

- I can NOT leave the house without wearing mascara.  I don’t have to have anything else on, but I must have mascara.
  – I LOVE having breakfast for dinner.

– My husband and son are my world.  If it weren’t for them, I would be lost.

- I have lived in 8 different houses in the last 10 years.

Blogs I am awarding all 3 awards to are:

Etude House goodness!!!!

I am sooo stoked! I got my Etude House goodies in the mail today and the smell is soooo intoxicating.  I think it’s the body washes that are taking over the smell of the box though.  The entire package smelled like a freshly washed newborn baby.  My son is going to smell SOOOOOOOOOO good after bathing with those bad boys! :D Snuggle time!
BUNNEH!!!!  Like my new Bunny Umbrella?

The cutest nail polishes I have EVAR seen!

My sweet baby boy found the bunneh!

My newest addiction: sheet masks.  I am OBSESSED people!

I have really oily skin and the Baking Powder line is geared towards that.  My skin would not look anywhere near as good as it does if it weren’t for makeup remover wipes.  When it comes to skincare I am pretty darn lazy.  At the end of the day I don’t want to stand in front of a sink and take a facial cleanser and lather up and rinse and make a mess.  I would much rather take a makeup wipe and get it off and then use an astringent to make sure everything is gone.  If a makeup routine is fussy I wont stick to it.

These little body washes smell EXACTLY like baby powder and soft skin.  it reminds me of when I was really really young.  It makes my whole body feel at ease! LOOOOVE!

Miss Tangerine Brightening Cotton Primer pads smell like oranges.  How fun! :)

Can’t wait to try these lil guys! I will more than likely take pics while I am using them!  Too fun not to share!

I also got some treats from a customer today.  Sweet, sweet lady.  She insisted that I take the gift!

It is a jar of locally produced honey.  Me and my son both have an allergy to pollen and they say that its the best cure! And I <3 Burts Bees!
Hope you all enjoyed my “haul”!  I love getting packages like these!  If you want to see a review on any of these products just let me know!  Have an awesome day!

Picture tag!

Rules:
1. Go to the fourth folder in your computer Where You store your pictures.(Do not cheat!)
2. Then pick the fourth picture in the folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same.

After I read the rules on this tag I was nervous to find which picture was the one.  There is no telling what kinds of pictures I have stored on this computer.  Lucky it was an old stash folder, so it is makeup related.
As you can see from the picture it is a pile of palettes, drugstore up to high end.  I now have these palettes stored in various other places.  Ones that are more often used are stored in my Lori Greiner spinning organizer.  And some are still in this very drawer which sits in the bathroom cabinet beneath my sink.  Here is a picture of the organizer.

Hope you enjoyed my post!  Thanks for reading!

Comfort Zone FOTD (and written tutorial)

Ok, so this will be my first written tutorial.  I used the Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone palette (only the left side).  I didn’t take step by step pictures because I didn’t think I would be doing this.  I took the picture using my iPhone so I appologize it isn’t my normal camera quality.  But here goes…
1.  As always, I apply my eyeshadow primer.  In this case I used Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat.
2.  I filled in my brows using the Anastasia brow kit, and I also used the highlight color in the palette.
3.  I used the Wet N Wild palette’s ‘Browbone’ color from the lashline all the way up to where I applied the highlight shade from my brow kit.
4.  I layered the ‘Eyelid’ color over the ‘Browbone’ color all the way from lashes to a little above the crease.  I also made sure to highlight the inner corner with it.
5.  I then layered the ‘Crease’ color just on the lid.
6.  I took the ‘Definer’ color just along the lashes.
7.  I used a thin brush (Sonia Kashuk bent liner brush) to apply MAC Blacktrack fluidline.
8.  Apply mascara.  You could also glam it up with a nice set of falsies!
Here are the palettes I used in this look:

Hope you ladies enjoyed this post.  Let me know in the comments below if you would like more tutorials.

June 2011 Birchbox

I received my June Birchbox today and I have to say that I am pretty impressed.  I am interested in just about everything that is in this one.  I was just before purchasing Xen Tan days ago and I have always wanted to try Laura Gellar products.  I also love the Herban Essentials towelettes.  They are perfect for busy moms to throw in their handbag.
The contents are:
Kate Spade Twirl
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free Lotion
Laura Gellar Blush N Brighten in Apricot Berry (full size)
Xen Tan Deep Bronze Luxe
 2 Herban Essentials Orange Towelettes
The blush is beautiful.  I have been wanting to try it out for a while now but I always end up passing on her stuff.  I am so excited to try this product out.  It is definitely a color that I would wear often.

Thanks for looking.  If you got a Birchbox, tell me what you got in the comments below!!!!  Have a great day!

Cloudy Luster FOTD

As promised, I am posting my FOTD I did with yesterday’s haul.  I was chomping at the bit to try it all out.
Stila Cloud is gorgeous.  It is the perfect silvery taupe.  I paired it with some other amazing eyeshadows and I think it made a gorgeous look.  Oddly enough the look I put together reminded me SOOO much of the BECCA Enigma palette.
First impressions of the BB cream is awesome.  It went on smooth and blended in easily.  It neutralized redness immediately.  Unfortunately, my natural oils starting showing through really fast.  I wanted to really love it but I have high standards due to Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream.  The Skin79 Gold doesn’t stand a chance against my oily skin.
I really love the coverage that the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer delivers.  It is soooo thick and creamy.  The tiniest dot does my whole undereye area.  It is so pigmented that it only takes just a tiny bit.  Throughout the day my opinion didn’t change on it.  It is amazing.  I may have to do a head to head challenge on my undereye concealers, what do you think?  Let me know in the comments below.
